Heard this song on a video I saw yesterday of the Les Brothers dancing at a workshop. It’s haunting. Never heard of this artist, but then again I’m American so if it’s not pushed in our markets then we’ll never know about it unless we seek it out after hearing it by accident. I don't understand how anyone could hate on this man. You must be an utter idiot if you can't recognize how much technique and skill is behind his voice. There are so very few vocalists that possess this much talent. Hopefully, he sees the same amount of success like other UK artists (Adele, Sam Smith, Amy Whinehouse, FKA Twigs, etc.) Kwabs is brilliant. His tone is rare. I’m here from the Les Brothers video I saw today. I resonate with it completely. This song gives me goosebumps and not many can. As I am currently healing from a heartbreak, I interpret the song as a relationship being over but still being haunted by all the memories and the “what ifs” daily. I fought for the relationship and here I am now, in be aftermath, still fighting, attempting to truly heal; facing what was done wrong to me and what I’ve done wrong also. It takes a strong individual to admit their faults but that is imperative in the process of healing. “Struggling to see the signs, Too heavy for a heart like mine” resonates with me as it is extremely tough to look back and realize that the signs were there but I refused to acknowledge them so now those same things are haunting me. Not only am I heartbroken-I feel like a fool, I would rather not think about it because it’s only going to make the heartbreak worse and I can’t bare it with my broken heart’s current condition..It’s heavy, extremely heavy. When he says “keep my heritage to keep me clean” I’m interpreting it as a person using their beliefs to protect them in this process. Some people pray, meditate , etc., whatever your belief is, you look to that for guidance and protection. I thank my ancestors/spirit guides DAILY for protecting me from things seen and unseen. The last stand TO ME is being unconditionally in love with someone that is no longer reciprocating the love they once showed so I have no choice but to begrudgingly walk away. I’m stuttering as I walk away because I don’t really want to but my hand is being forced. I’m tormented by the thought of having to leave someone I love unconditionally but I know I deserve better, I want better but I’m also hoping that you say something/anything, that’ll make me stay. I’m asking you to release me as you’re acting as if I’m not what you want but in the same mind, wishing that you’ll say that you need me so I can have an excuse to stay. I can recall being so in love that I felt like a spell had been placed because the love had such a magnetic pull, something I’ve never experienced, the feeling was foreign to me. I’m not supposed to still yearn you and/or love you as we are no longer together but I do. I can still feel your touch, the way you made me feel, the memories and I’m haunted by them all... just my interpretation of the song!!
