I get that its a show but it annoys me how many characters just impulsively leave perfectly healthy relationships for something they are not even sure about . Molly , simone and so many characters just wasting the time of their partners and randomly leaving them . And this is a pattern throughout the show . I think many enjoyed japril runaway bride coz they wanted them to end up together and they were an amazing couple but with a trainwreck of a storyline . I guess many people enjoy it as the show is still going strong.

Believe me, it happens even in real life too. Some people are just more driven by impulse or how they feel in that moment. It's the same reason so many affairs happen. Many are in relationships where they are sort of settling. Perhaps, not exactly everything they've wanted but still a good deal of sorts. So when they meet someone they think fits them better, they jump first into it often with heart breaking consequences. In this case though, it's not like he's a total stranger. I mean, they were literally in love and engaged to be married. She could have gone and started a whole life not knowing he ever existed but faith had other plans. I don't blame her for stalling the engagement and exploring things with her ex. Why marry someone when you aren't 100% sure? That's lifetime commitment! A lifetime of you wondering what could've been and it's not her fault she lost her memories. Ultimately, it's a tricky one.

This is an incredible character study, and what happens when romantic chemistry between 2 people is perfection. I'm not saying what he did (cheating) is justified, but the combination of youth, grief, alcohol and feelings of inadequacy/depression will do very bad things to your judgment. Listen to his little speech about how he sees their past. She saved him. This is a beautiful thing, but what he doesn’t realize is that he likely saved her as well. He put her on a pedestal, and it seems like he's been telling himself that she's too good for him long before he cheated. Then, after the accident, he's been beating himself up for something that he thinks he caused. His character arc is really nice here, and it shows true growth. Her determination to know the truth is a really nice foil for his character. Him being drawn to working as a trauma doctor also plays well into this. At times, he uses this as a distraction from dealing with his own grief. He didn’t just lose his mom at an early age. He lost the love of his life (his savior), too. He did the right thing telling her the whole story as well before admitting to even himself that he still has feelings for her. That should pay off later on down the line (if they have her memory come back). As for Dave, I do feel bad for him, but not everyone who comes into your life is supposed to stay. It's smart of her not to jump into the engagement with him if she constantly has Kwan on her mind. I’ll bet that kiss likely unlocked a memory or two. Anyway, I haven’t watched GA in years, so this was a nice way back into the show. Thanks!

I hate when people cheat. There is just never a justified reason for it. Just talk it out. If it doesn't work, then decide if this is really the person or the relationship that's worth working on, but never cheat.

Facts but some people do have their judgement thrown off due to life effecting them harder than others. Never justified to cheat but some people realize it was a mistake that shouldnt have happened but thats rare most of the time people just want to fuck everyone they see. Thats why you font stay in a comitted relationship bc u can never trust anybody. Then again Im just an outsider looking in. Im 21 yrs old and never been in a relationship or in love so maybe I dont know shit.

That’s a good point. But it has been years, they were kids, like around 21-22 years of age, his mother had just died at the time, and it’s been around 6-7 years so there is a chance for them this time. But yeah I would definitely have reservations, not to mention Grey’s loves to annihilate the great couples and keep train wrecks like Owen and Teddy around so I wouldn’t hold my breath.

You have to stop and think, “how would I react or feel if someone did that to me, would I want to be with them?” No you wouldn’t. If they cheat on you once they will more than likely cheat on you again. Guaranteed. Do people change? Sometimes but very very rare.

It’s just dumb love. She keeps going back to him because he’s familiar, and she’s like his comfort. Kwan is incapable of giving her the kind of love she’s looking for. He left her once, and he’d leave her again. After losing her memory, Kwan is the only person she recognizes, and yet she still wants to be with him-even after he told her he left following her accident. It feels like she’s clinging to a love tied to a part of her life she doesn’t even remember. It’s not real; it’s just convenient.

@@codedsoul7360 I’m not saying either are right, but there are definitely extenuating circumstances involved here. I don’t know how grief of that magnitude can alter your mind and actions because I’m still lucky enough to have both my parents but losing one at 21 is insane and I don’t think I could guarantee not self destructing if that were me, or being self-absorbed. Also she lost years off her life, which has to be disorienting and he’s the key to bringing back who she was, her authentic self before she was derailed and lost her entire identity, so again not a justification, but again I can’t imagine having to continuously piece your life together and fuse an unknown history into who you are now day after day. So honestly as long as she doesn’t have an affair and breaks up with her fiancé before pursuing things further with Kwan, then that’s her choice or mistake to make, as long as she’s not leading anyone on and is completely upfront.
