I just came across my list of your ink blending combinations when I was straightening up my craft room! Never gets old!! Thank you - - As a side note, I enjoyed the Alaskan cruise so much!! We did about the same thing around three weeks before you. We were on the Discovery Princess, also a beautiful ship!

Gorgeous blends, Kristina! Would the C9 inks smooth out after they are dry and not show quite as much of the paper texture? I know Gina K and Simon Hurley inks have a smoothing agent and while they look a little blotchy at first, once dry they smooth out beautifully. Also, I think the paper makes a huge difference. The much smoother Gina K and Simon Hurley white cardstocks blend so much better for me than any other cardstock I've tried. I will try C9 inks on my next blend and see how they do on those cardstocks because I love the color combos you used! Thanks for a very informative video!

I don't think I've ever commented on your blending videos. I love them and am so glad you have highlighted both compatible ink combinations and technique. Fascinating to see this comparison. Glad I have both but will definitely stick to Oxides for larger blends.

This is always my favorite type of video that you do because I don't anyone else does it and you do it so well! Question- I like to use the ink blended backgrounds for silhouette stamping and I always prefer distress oxides. How do you get a very black image? Is it the type of black in k you use or just stamp it many times? Thank you Kristina, Sarah

It is so interesting that the C9 inks are so much more vibrant. I love ink blending with Distress Oxides but I have most of the Gina K inks and will give those a try. I'd love to see your take on blending with Gina K inks. Oh and the Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves is a stunning blend!! Thanks

I have had very good luck using water color paper with my ink oxides. I love to spritz the paper with water after I do the blending.

The dye inks really are so saturated. Lovely to see the comparison and the texture of the paper showing was interesting compared to the smooth finish of the oxide inks. Oxides were a total game changer for me, I couldn't ink blend until those were released, they made things so much easier, as did better blending tools. But for a deep and dramatic blend, the ink seems a good option. Thanks for doing the comparison xoxo

I'm really happy about your new adventures with C9, along with HBS they're my favorite companies. Do you think there's a difference in the ink blending between using foam with the oxides and brushes for C9?
@kwernerdesign2 ай бұрын
The Oxides are a very creamy ink and are more forgiving when using the foam blending tools. I find that the foam tools are a great way to get a heavy application of ink quickly, which aids in blending the Oxides. However, dye inks like the C9 inks soak into the cardstock quickly and a heavy application is difficult to blend. I find it easier to build up color slowly with dye inks. That's why blending with brushes is easier. I can't say I've even attempted to use foam tools with the C9 inks, though.
