We need air cooled motocross racing! At the very least at the local level the only mods allowed suspension outside of that it would be so sick to have air cooled only races. Cheaper to buy, cheaper to race, low maintenance, and you’ll be having stupid fun being wide open everywhere!

I currently race an air cooled crf250f in local county fair arenacross. Did some work to the suspension, exhaust, and added an ejk. That’s it. Riding a trail bike, it feels amazing when you beat someone with a $10k+ race bike

Amazing video! I was just talking with my buddy about bike prices. He showed me an ad from 1983 for a rm125 for $1349. Crazy cheap. I did ask myself what modern day bike would be comparable performance? For example, is the klx230 faster than a 1983 rm125? Next video idea!

Hard to believe these guys were so amazed. I’d ride my klx250 for practice and mudders at Budds to save my race bike, I’d finish about the same as I would on my yz125/250f. Motocross is 90% rider, a faster bike can make you slower if you can’t handle it.

About 18-19 years ago I had a crf230f and was taking it to my local MX track. I liked jumping more than racing, and it still did 80% of the jumps. But then I upgraded to an RM250 so I could cruise and make all the jumps. As you just found out, they are impressive for being a trail bike.

From experience I ride my buddies dads 07 200xcw on the track a lot and it isn’t too much fun lol! Of course any bike on any track is fun but it doesn’t compare to an actual xc or Mx bike. Trans is too gapped out and wide of that makes sense. Soooo much shifting.

I rode the Templar x in the 2023 24 hours of Glen Helen in the Ironman class. Only mods were a 30mm carb, preload spacers for the fork springs, removed the exhaust restrictor, and installed new chain. I put 35 hours on the bike training for the race. Bike ran better than my body could survive the race as I made it to hour 12 before submitting to the torture. I would 1000% do it again.

The CRF 150 was the most impressive! When you can ride a bike wide open and are comfortable on it you can usually go faster! I think that I was faster on a 125 than a 250, depending on the track of course.

I had a 2004 Yamaha trr 125 growing up fist dirt bike I was beating all the kids on the moto track on there 2 stroke 85s lol then I eventually got a 2000 yz 125 then the 2006 crf250r it was amazing then 04 crf450r.
