I'm more than happy to fill in the backstory without giving too many details: The owl (Stolas) is a demon and a prince of Hell who belongs to a group of nobles called the Ars Goetia. In real-life demonology, he’s in charge of studying the stars and celestial bodies (hence all the space and celestial motifs surrounding him). The other figure is Blitz (actually male), who’s an imp (the lowest class in Hell’s hierarchy, which is why in the video Stolas mentions his “lower station”) who met Stolas once when they were children (and who Stolas was immediately smitten with even then). When they met again decades later, Blitz seduced him in order to obtain a spellbook (the Grimoire) that would grant him access to the living world in order to run his own business as a contract killer for dead humans with grudges against the living. Stolas (who was trapped in a terrible arranged marriage and desperate to feel real passion and love) eagerly accepted his seemingly genuine romantic advances, yet essentially trapped Blitz into a deal to “sate [his] dark temptations”, agreeing to lend him the Grimoire full-time on the condition that he return it (and engage in “passionate hugging” with him) every full moon (which is why Stolas mentions being drawn from his responsibilities “on those dazzling moonlit nights”, and why Blitz is associated with the moon - it's the one time they really see each other). However, while Stolas genuinely loves Blitz and wants to be with him, his privilege and status can cause him to be somewhat patronizing towards him (constantly calling him by the pet name “Blitzy”, saying that it's “cute” when he’s serious, that sort of thing), and as a result of that, Blitz believes that the relationship between them is purely transactional and that Stolas only sees him as an “impish little plaything”. Blitz has his own set of issues as well- due to both his lowborn status and general upbringing as a child, he’s had a VERY hard life and a LOT of trauma, which has caused him to become INCREDIBLY self-destructive (having sabotaged almost every relationship he’s ever had out of self-loathing - his sister, his former best friend, and his ex-girlfriend, just to name a few). These failures, coupled with his inability to understand proper intimacy, have led him to "conjure up" emotional "walls" (why he's curled up in the moon) and push away anyone who gets too close to him by acting like a self-absorbed jerk, despite both longing for love himself and his deep-seated fear of dying alone and unloved. At this point in the show's plot, Stolas has since realized that the feelings he’s developed for Blitz might not be mutual and that Blitz should have the freedom to choose if he wants to continue seeing him of his own free will. To allow Blitz access to the human world without needing the Grimoire, Stolas has reached out to a third party and requested a magical crystal from them (the orange diamond in the gift box) to give to Blitz as a replacement, which said party has just now finally gotten around to sending to Stolas. And now that he has it, Stolas is torn, because he knows that Blitz may very well walk away from their relationship entirely once he realizes he has an "out", leaving him alone and heartbroken. Hello, I am new here, I want to clarify, the owl singing is named Stolas, a guardian of the stars and planets in the human realm. He is in a tragic love story of an imp, the lowest of low, their name is Blitz (a guy) and they were in a bind on every full moon as a transactional f***. So, seeing how much pain Blitz is in, he feels the need to grant the mercy to the bind and letting him go.

-= Spoiler Ahead =- Stolas despite being demon royalty has had his entire life planned out for him. From childhood to adulthood his two purposes in life were to guard a special book and fulfill a prophecy by having a daughter. He has done both those things, his daughter is 17 about to be an adult and his days are spent isolated in a loveless arranged marriage with a wife who hates him. He suddenly falls in love with a lesser demon named Blitzø perhaps the only person to have shown him kindness. However, for Blitzo their relationship just a business arrangement, but for Stolas its the closest relationship he has ever had. And Blitzø also having been broken emotionally himself can't seem to go farther than that.

This song is from a show on youtube about a company of imps in Hell that kill people in the living world on behalf of sinners. Its an adult show, absolutely hilarious, and when it wants to hit you in the feels, it fires a .50BMG into them point blank. I cannot reccomend you watch it enough, it is one of the best shows out there.

I think the best way to describe the show is: "A dark comedi/emotional drama semi-musical" The show has gratuitous violence and sex jokes, but in a way use it as a contrast to the emotional scenes. It has at least one music every episode(not all of then in this level, but none of then bad). If you just want to see another good songs from the same show: - ozzies song (helluva boss) - Helluva boss "You will be ok" song from Episode 2 .............................................. Even though some fans would say that the pilot or 1th episode is not the best way to start(the first emotional sucker punch/hook comes at the 2nd episode), I would say the best way to understand what the show is about is to watch: -The pilot (not 100% canon anymore, but introduces the idea really well) -The 1th episode (violence/sex jokes/IMP interaction/job) -2nd episode (emotional punch in the feels) all 3 episodes together have 40min, (if you prefere you can skip the pilot)

I recommend Episode 2 over 1 as a start to the show, if you're coming from this music video. Episode 1 barely has this character in it at all, but by starting with 2, you get a (partial) explanation of this video AND meet the rest of the cast. THEN go back to episode 1, and continue to 3,5,6,7,8 and season 2
