Hi sir, I have old philips dh 415. A full range speaker with a weird tweeter as I dont see a magnet attached to it just a plate. So my question is how can I find a replacement for it should I go with never gen tweeters without crossover? As crossover is also not present in that box

Bhaiya Sb Audience k 10inch woofer k liye amplifier suggest ki jiye. Class D ya class AB. Mai active crossover based tower speaker bana raha hun. Aur currently woofer k liye XAB 6 ka plan kr raha hun.

XAB 6 is a good amplifier. But as you mentioned your build plan is based on active crossover. You need 3 stereo or 6 mono amplifiers for your build. And as your single subwoofer driver is of 500w. Your total output wattage will exceed 2000w. And as class ab amplifier efficiency varies between 50%-65%. So in that case your total power draw from the wall will be somewhere around 3500w - 4000w. And not to forget large heat sinks and cabinets for those high power amplifiers. So if you are comfortable with all above mentioned points feel free to go with class ab for your build. Or else go with class d amplifier for low frequency like irs2092, tas5630 mono.

@@kangarruuu well brother. One thing I want to say is that, cone material won't determine whether a driver is good or not. I mean ek driver accha hai ya kharab ye uske sirf aur sirf cone material ya to sirf uski motor ko dekh k nahi bataya ja skta. Apne cone ka pucha to sirf ussi ki baat kare to cone material sirf sound ko ek perticular characteristic provide krta hai. Driver paper cone k bhi acche rete hain aur aluminium cone k bhi. In a driver sound is produced when it's cone moves forward and backward by its motor, which is called pistonic motion. In a aluminium cone driver, as aluminum is a metal, the force generated by the motor which is located in the centre of the cone, equally transfer till the corner/edge of cone. Which results in a proper pistonic motion. Thus generating greater spl, which can be feel from longer distances. In short the thump of low frequency that we feel inside our body while standing near a dj. But the drawback is that metal cone drivers lacks audible low frequency as compared to paper cone drivers. The difference is not very huge but very slightly. Because low frequency is more about spl, vibrations, thump. Paper cone tend to flex more and that's why they create more audible noise than metal cones. And metal cones are also stable at higher wattages in large size drivers. So if you are planning to build a subwoofer with a 10+ inch driver I would suggest metal cones. Small size drivers can't create high spl so better go with paper cone in small subwoofer.
