Firstly the use of recording systems, Black Metal bands often use lo-fi recording techniques which makes the sound more grainny and distorted. As well as the use of heavily distorted guitars that adds to the ambiance, makes the vocals sound more nightmarish. None of which is present in this performance.

Other popular atonal singing style will be rap it also doesn't have 'sur' but have rhythm. Without instrumentation any kind of growls, screams and fry scream are going to sound stupid. The music makes the growl sound good.

We are Indians. We just can't wrap our heads and hearts around the screaming part. I love metal music. But that's because of the heavy drums and the guitars. I like a certain amount of scream in any song but when the entire song is simply screaming all the time, it's not my cup of tea. It gives me a headache and the lyrics will sometimes be indecipherable when you listen to something like Slipknot. I know that screaming signifies anger, frustration, pain and disappointment. But there are better ways of doing that.

Alternative and nu metal are popular ones, whereas black or even progressive metal have a dedicated fanbase. The reason I asked him to name few bands, was to test his basic knowledge because he was criticizing the contestant despite not being able to tell the difference between black and death metal. Vocal styles are also different for both, black metal ones are distorted (and that's exactly what they're going for, the production quality itself is low). Beta, I'm no longer a metalhead. I'm past that phase. But jab aapne sunna shuru kia na, tabh humne band kia.

I think it's a platform where we show our talent. This guy is very talented. The judges seem to have zero knowledge on different genre of music. I think they only think music is what they have been listening since childhood which is traditional music. This is what happens when a person judges you without having the specific knowledge that you have. The judges are judging his personality as well. And we'll know we are free to live as the way we like. We are free to believe any ideology. If he supports Satan then it's totally his personal life. This is insult of a pure talent. The judges don't know the meaning of talent. They are unworthy of becoming judge. They were rude to an artist. The guy was literally sharing his ideology about life. Why he believes in evil and his talent in music but the judges were insulting him, his talent and an amazing artist. This is the reason I hate reality shows.
