Even I didn't think houses until I started using the houses in varga then the predictions come out correct using Dasha. Using planet in main rashi didn't help pinpoint as in varga. Read Shesh Iyer book on varga and start testing it.

It doesn't justify the presence of houses in Vargas. There is no use of reading vargas without considering Vaisheshikamsha. Houses are only in D1 and vargas are divisions within a sign or rashi. That's fundamental. I am not interested in the translated versions, instead you should refer to original classics like BPHS, Phala Deepika etc. English translated versions are distorted and misinterpreted. Refer to classical Jyotish texts if you really want to understand astrology and keep your suggestion of reading translated versions (shesh iyer etc) upto you. I don't need your or anybody else's guidance.
