Land pressure is the same valley and hill. 90% of the 90% is inaccessible/mountainous. Meiteis have concentrated all the govt institutions, hospitals in the valley, so all these have occupied huge areas of land in the valley. Moreover, all these have also attracted tribals from the hills to settle in the valley. I hope I made some sense.

One has land (91 percent) other has power (40 seats out of 60 seats). One has development and infrastructures due to power, and other resorted to drugs and same old syndromes to earn and survive. Most of us have migrated over the time, say for work, better future , better opportunities and other better benefits or due to compelling situation. Every boundary has this problem of ethenic enclave. (Tami nadu &Sri lanka, west & east Bengal, east &west punjab , manipur &myanmar, Arunachal & Tibet and many more). India has house us all and provided safety (constitution). Like Gandhiji said "there is enough for everybody's need but not for anybody's greed". Things can be solved amicably than through voilence and polaziation. Current times requires .... immense bravery, tolerance, understanding .... path of voilance may be tempting, but true solution can be obtain by understanding eachother.

How can you expect development where there is no welcome of it! Illegal taxes in hill areas and other hindrances result in workers and contractors unsafe in construction projects. No law, burning down of public properties e.g. public gym and blockade of NH. There will be retardation in every aspects. Don't blame on only the government. Be responsible.

Mr Kuki Says meiteis are an advanced race so they dont need ST status. Mr Meitei who is advanced in education, commodities, tech etc Cant buy land or do anything in Hills because Tribal lands are protected. Therefore Mr meitei who is in imphal valley is prospering because all his advancement will be invested in the small piece of land in the valley. Now Mr Kuki says to Central Govt that all the Developments are happening in the Imphal Valley, the Hills are neglected. I say, Obviously.
