If you don’t remove the steering rack you could not easily move the knuckle to extract the shocks (1:33). And also to avoid any damage from the steering when you lower the knuckle (1:29).

Releasing the bottom of the shock absorber.

My Peugeot 107 2007, seems not to have that? Or do you just "open" the gap more, for the shock absorber to release faster?

I don't understand how the part a 1:22 is done, I cannot for the life of me prise the clamp open.
