Hi Allen! Before I installed the Gator Guard on my TT I contacted various companies that make keel type guards. They all told me that the adhesive they use is designed for fiberglass or aluminum hulls and that it would not stick to the Surpass Resin the TT hull is made of. The folks at Gator Guard said their product would stick but did not recommend it for our application either because it is basically a fiberglass patch and not durable enough. I installed the Gator Guard and only after several years did I wear a hold in the product and have to patch over the hoe before it started to wear on the hull of the boat but it is not a care free, drive right onto a concrete boat launch solution. The Kydex has me thinking about what you did. The next time I need to repair my Gator Guard I would consider installing the Kydex as you did however, the only place I have an issue is at the point on the front of the pontoons where they meed the ground/boat launch so I would not install it on all the locations you did. Let me know how well it stays on and how durable the Kydex is to abrasion. Good video! Gerry

I agree that for your use I think the kydex on pontoons only makes sense as well. I run mine aground on banks so I actually had more visible damage on the center point. I rarely fish this boat where I have an actual ramp or pier I can make use of. The price for adhesive and kydex is definitely more appealing than the manufactured option and gives a bit more coverage as well. It has been in the water about 30 hours thus far and appears very solid with the intermediate in place I used. The yak guys appear to be in love with this solution on their plastic hulls using less robust adhesive and silicone.
