It was February 2016. I was just beginning the travel phase of my life after working crazy hours for 5 years. I was in Halong Bay, Vietnam on an overnight cruise with 2 New Yorkers, 8 Brits, 1 Chilean, 1 Bavarian-German, a party animal Vietnamese crew and a boat filled with questionable alcohol. Kygo's remix of 'I see Fire' comes on and it was fitting. The 'Misty Mountains' were filled with a cool autumn-like fog. We traversed through the bay like the Black Pearl would the Carribean. I was sitting on the top deck of the boat and as the song transitions out, the now familiar tune of Firestone made its way in. I was floored - what a tune! I remember feeling so free from the worries of the world I had just left behind. The melody took me away and I had never been so happy. I was free from the chains of working 9 months of night work. The stresses and sleep deprivation were long gone. It was then I understood what freedom meant and I relished every moment on that boat. This song has followed me on many travels since. And everytime I hear the melody, it immediately transports me back to Halong Bay 2016. I can see myself there right now. I don't think those memories will ever escape me. From that moment sprung many creative endeavours, like photography and becoming an author. They were endeavours I never thought possible. To me, Firestone isn't just a song. It was a catalyst for the most creative chapters of my life since. I am so grateful for its impact. Thanks Kygo.

Lose yourself in those plans and forget about what's happened today. What is past is past and can not be changed so why spend another moment thinking about what you can't change when you can have much more happiness thinking about and planning for what's to come which you can change....? !
