Kyle Dake , Cael Sanderson, Pat Smith and Logan Stieber are the only four-time Division I champions. Dake is the only wrestler in NCCA history to win four national championships in four different weight classes. Dake is the first person to win four titles in four years of competition without a redshirt year. He finished his college career 137-4 and was undefeated his last two years. And Bryant Cantrell's comment below is "Dake...what a fucking meat head."

@@quincyspielberger4366 86KG - poor Dake then said in an interview he expected to beat Burroughs every time - BULLSNOT! Burroughs shattered his ankle running sprints in a strange gym due to a Covid breakout at his normal gym. He missed a wall mat trying to catch himself after 40 yards and caught the solid wall. He missed 13 weeks of training and was still in rehab when Dake finally beat the guy. Burroughs is in a league far above Dake.

I believe a takesown to their stomach is 2 points now with the rule change
@johnspence615411 жыл бұрын
Two points are awarded for offensive takedowns, one point for counter takedowns (I hate this rule, I know it awards offensive wrestling, but it also breeds confusion). Basically meaning when Jordan shot that double it was a offensive takedown resulting in two points. Let say dake would have countered the shot and took down Jordan then it would be a one point takedown, unless of course Dake gets exposure. I like the old rules better takedowns are one point :/
@sanitary10311 жыл бұрын
thanks for the clarification John. I figured the rules changed. I just don't understand why they keep changing the rules. how do they expect to bring in casual fans excitement to our sport? i've been watching wrestling closely since the mid 90's and i'm tired of the change. they implement a clinch rule in the early 2000's, then they change the weight classes again in 2002. then they implement 2 out of 3 matches wins as well as the push rule. now they change the scoring with takedowns. it's annoying to say the least. i'm done, lol.

Maybe you didn't see Worlds this week. Burroughs wrestled four of the best guys in the world in a two hour time frame and never got gassed. The way he wrestles is perfect for this sort of tournament because he doesn't keep matches as close as Dake does. Burroughs puts away the weaker guys early. Plus, if Burroughs happens to be down late in the match, he is the guy who can get a takedown when he really needs it. Dake just doesn't have that sort of skill on his shots.

@Tdinh792 жыл бұрын
Jordan Burroughs stays higher to be more explosive and more athletic. He is known for his double leg takedowns, and being explosive in that shot. Dake knows this, so he keeps his level as low as possible so he doesnt get ran over by his double leg take down. Burroughs figured it out and would score other ways. But now- Dake is "THE" man by taking out Burroughs for the 2020 Olympic spot.
