I adore how this simultaneously captures the energy of lines that are _almost_ translated correctly, with minor grammatical errors but a clearly understandable intention ("We are losing control on a floor tonight", "Clapping the hands"), but also lines that have been so bafflingly mistranslated that you wonder what the hell the original intention was ("Take your heart into a unicorn"???)

Usually the weird ones are where a word translates into two different English words, or in the original language the word has multiple meanings depending on context. And for whatever reason the translator had to presumably just guess. That’s why so much Chinese is translated wildly incorrectly. The kanji can mean a million things, the context changes the meaning. Like in English, die means a singular dice OR the verb for becoming dead. So if someone read “Die in English means to become dead or the singular of dice” they’d have to pick the word in their language for the correct option, but if they get the option wrong… well you get “Take your heart to a unicorn”. Or on this example, “We’re gonna [singular of dice] [offspring]” for “We’re gonna die young”

Fuck that was without even mentioning “Oh I’ve got an Idea. WORLD PEACE!”, the shots of Bill Clinton, war and nature footage, and just every horny symbol possible.
