Moving forward. This will be the ONLY suspension setup video I will ever watch and I know I will have to rewatch this over and over again. I would call Kyle not only as a master but also a genius. Suspension is so freaking complicated yet Kyle interpret em in a Simple Way. A Genius keep things simple from something thats too complicated. . The way Kyle interprets settings by translating them to the reality is what made it simpler and really nailed. Simple but not lacking the right details. I also liked the chart that shows comparison which way the dial should go on an Open or Closed way, those visuals made a lot of difference. OMG thank you so much for this video. Intensive and very helpful.

Me too, but I hope it works for setting xc fork with rebound and heavy weight. Not sure if I can apply proper force, if it won't be too much so if rebound be good, too much force will bump the wheel. Only thing I didn't set yet

Hey Everyone! We hope this video is really helpful for getting your bike setup dialed in! We added a ton of chapters throughout the video so it should be pretty easy to brush up on certain parts. Also @ 27:08 There is a quick recap of how to measure front and rear sag, and set rebound for both the fork and shock. We would love to hear your experiences if this helps in any way! One great way to tune the rebound on the rear- grab the seat and lift the rear wheel off the ground about 2 ft and drop. The rear wheel should hit the ground and not bounce, if it does you have too little rebound

Coach Kyle and April!!! Thank you!!!! I’ve been back riding MTB’s again for the past 14 months (less 3 months for back surgery) after a 23+ year layoff. I’m back riding again because of eMTB’s allowing me to climb those gnarly hills at the age of 61 years young. Your videos are what’s helped me the most out of all the other channels. Having your lovely partner be the student allows me to see what I may be doing wrong and correct them.(or more like I can’t remember how lol!!). Especially this series of suspension!! I finally got my bike to ride and work like I know it should. Honestly I thought I wasted my money on the Fox 38 and DVO JadeX coil(lmao!!) Man!! Those suspension parts make my eMTB eat up all the bumps and jumps(small) now!! It’s because of you two showing and explaining it to me in terms and language that I could understand clearly. Sorry for this long and late comment but I’ve been riding even more since I FINALLY tuned my suspension correctly. I just had to let you know that you helped me so so much. Thank you!!! Best wishes on continued success on your channel. Best Regards, Cesar

One thing I would have mentioned is that most forks and shocks only have low speed compression adjustment. That's what the average rider and the average viewer is probably using :) Anyhow, your videos just always manage to explain the things more clearly than anything else despite having watches tens of similar videos in the past. Videos like this are a lot of work for both of you (and we appreciate them). Your efforts and resulting videos & comments are exactly on target. Yes, I have a full squish bike, have ridden for a long time, and [think] I can manage almost anything on my bike with my eyes closed, ... except I'm terrified of having to make any modifications to my suspension. Your videos on this topic with real life walk-through examples (on both your bikes) are very helpful. When I heard your rim ding off the higher speed rocky downhill example you provided Kyle, ... I shreiked like a frightened puppy. We appreciate your enthusiasm for real life examples but that was way above the call of duty. Also, having both your perspectives addressing this (or any) topic is very helpful given our brains all address things differently. This is a long way to say, wow, fantastic, yet again. Also, your voices (& videos) remain in my head while traversing the local trail network (cornering, drop-offs, etc.) [My] continuous improvement is always possible (Kaizen). Thanks for helping us.

Awesome video, great info. I was just going through this as well. If anyone else is watching this and has the shock that comes on a RIP 9, you can actually use the Fox Digital shock pump without the adapter. You run it under the crossbar and the shock pump swivels enough at the end to mate up with the threads. BE SURE TO REMOVE IT BEFORE TESTING YOUR SAG! There is not enough room between the crossbar on the frame and the shock with your pump on it. If you try to compress your shock you will damage something, your shock, pump, and/or frame. I hope that helps someone. It's nice not having to fuss with that adapter.

Great great video guys. Helped me a lot w fine tuning setup. Something I'd like to mention. The park I ride all year.... The trail hardness and season changes the feel and I find I have to adjust suspension.for example the dirt in summer is hard and the roots are high. In the spring dirt is soft but roots are low. you are right about tire pressure. If I'm going for berm trail speed records on one of my flow trails I pump up the tires to 35 34 and give'er otherwise I'm 23.5 and 24. I love my ebike. ITs A JET. So great to see you two I wish you great success and happiness.

Just the video I was looking for! So so helpful! In the video you mentioned a link to something that would help determine the right tire pressure. Would love to check that out! Keep crushing it!

Sweet! I’ve always wondered if I run my tires too soft. Stoked to have a gauge. Thank you :)

Very good video! Pro tip for setting sag by yourself - if your feet don't reach the ground, get a crate (or a log, or a kerb) on one side, so you can step off without compressing the forks!
