Nah I think it more meant resurrecting Armored Core after abandoning it for ages. Hence ‘feed the fire’. That line wouldn’t make sense if it was talking about Dark Souls, as it would mean continuing it.

I agree that Elden Ring is already such a good game that DLC just feels like the cherry on top at this point. Hell, some of the areas in the base game already feel like they were DLC, like the entire underground or the Haligtree.

Alas, Kyle, much as I feel the same way, Number 5 is the one you are least likely to get: Allegedly "Kadokawa called Elden Ring a new IP and Franchise for them in a share holder meeting in early 2021". Also, allegedly ER upped their profits by 1100%. Kadokawa is FROM's parent company and the one who actually calls the shots here. It's annoying that we can't even blame this on Bamco, but thems the breaks.

Nail on the head with the Zelda stuff lol. ToTK has a decent shot at being better than Elden Ring but Nintendo’s DLCs (with the exception of Torna and Octo-expansion) pale in comparison to From Soft’s DLC, and ToTK’s DLC will probably be no different.

I'll be honest the TotK DLC joke really didn't land with me. I know it's a stab at Nintendo for the pricing of the Pokémon DLC more than at the one for BotW but in the past few weeks I've seen a fair ammount of toxicity from the ER community regarding Zelda that was really uncalled for. The two games are very different in what they try to achieve, ER being combat-driven whereas Zelda takes a sandboxy exploration take on the genre, it's kinda pointless to argue about them especially given the discrepancy between the target hardware. It's also very narrow minded for me to just fight to establish one fantastic game that stands above all rather than celebrating how many fantastic games released in the past few years.

Gotta disagree on the whole burning Elden Ring thing, I really enjoy the souls games (love Demon) but I'm absolutely over heels with Elden Ring. I really do want then to make more Expansions and Sequels. However.. I do want that sequel to be like the time span between 3d Mario games (like 5 years apart) with other newer framchises/ideas that aren't a huge open world game to be made yearly. There's still a ton of potential for an Elden Ring 2 laying on the table imo for it to be wrote off.
