Kyle, I love your work so much and am a big admirer. Hopefully one day I'll be able to play even a fraction like you. I just wandered if you had ever thought about playing my favourite disney song which is also from Pocahontas: "If I never knew you". It's a beautiful song. Hopefully I'll be able to see you making music for years to come.

As a fellow pianist I feel the need to read the sheet music when I listen to piano piece, but when I heard this song I had to close my eyes and listen. So beautiful and truly moving. Your playing inspires me everyday and I know you'll go far with your skills. And maybe it's because its late and I'm tired, but I have tears in my eyes.

Those arpeggios at 1:23, 2:43, 3:17 are hands down the cleanest arpeggios I've ever seen. Even when I watch professional pianists try to play arpeggios that fast they can't seem to make them as smooth and consistent as Kyle does. Look at his fingers when he does them! They're just effortlessly rolling across the keys while still creating the most perfectly consistent sounds! Unbelievable. Kyle kudos to you my friend.

How do you arrange something like this from basic sheet music Kyle? Is it all music theory or does it just come to you naturally? I've tried arranging stuff but all I wind up doing is repeating arpeggios in the left hand and then playing the melody in the right with not much variation.
@hcpiano6 жыл бұрын
I would guess that music theory combined with lots of experience is the key thing when it comes to advanced arrangements like this. Sometimes it just fits to play the melody with sixth or third intervals and sometimes it just fits depending on how the chords progress to play extra notes in the bass to bind the chords. I might be talking some rubish here since my music theory isnt my strong side, and you have probably learned a lot since you posted that question

Hi Kyle Landry, I heard this arrangement (a year ago) along with the Zelda medley and other anime and video game soundtrack arrangements and was inspired by your talent! I am quite the nerd which is why I enjoy listening to your video game soundtrack arrangements. At the time I was only a grade 4 and was very unexperienced pianist but because you inspired me so much I took it upon myself to learn this piece. It took a while but I am so happy that I learnt it as I have become a lot more skilled and just did my grade 5 (theory holding me back). I performed it twice. Once last year and once recently along with my other grade pieces. On the recent concert the sound quality is terrible. However it would mean the world to me if you took the time to look at the performances on my piano and tell me what you think as I strive to become a better Pianist like you. Many thanks for the Wake up call and inspiration, PrincessofRPGs

If you keep that idea in your mind you'll always say so when you can't play something and you'll never progress.
