I'm envious that your country gets the armoured version and also the 560s! Great review there Kyle!! The aftermarket hood lining does radiate heat but in reverse it reflects the heat back onto the engine and well, for the 560 I guess it should be much hotter than the other displacements... Love the rare green on green version which is literally extinct in today's world! Looking forward to part 2 of the armoured review.

Another great review. Waiting for part 2. That car would be nice to use in a highway casual cruise. I noticed after watching old car reviews that older cars have better ground clearance, which I prefer. Getting scratches below is not something I like experiencing.
@KyleLiongCars3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I think the reason older cars have better ground clearance is that they were yet to use ridiculously large rims that looks off if the body is too high. They could easily make do before with thicker tires. Not all old cars are high though. If you saw my review on the SL280 R129, it is really low. Lower than even modern coupes.

Talking about kids drawing cars, Kyle, I was a kid in the 1980s. There were plenty of W126s around the streets of Hong Kong where I grew up, and it was my dream car at the time. I've lost count of how many W126s I drew. Back then, I thought I was pretty good at drawing cars. Now, I don't know where all my drawings went. I still dream that one day I would own an S-class. I just haven't decided which series I want.
@KyleLiongCars3 жыл бұрын
Glad I was able to rekindle your childhood in a way. Having owned a couple of old Mercs, I would highly suggest you go for the slightly less electronic ones if it’s your first time. A W126 or W123 would do well
@BomberFletch313 жыл бұрын
@@KyleLiongCars Wow, thanks for the quick reply on an 8 month old video! For me personally, the W123 isn't for me. It's between the W116, V116, W126, V126 and V140 (I think the140 series onwards only really look proportionally correct with the long wheelbase).
@KyleLiongCars3 жыл бұрын
@@BomberFletch31 Yep the W140s looked off. V140s are great! Have you tried driving the 300D W123s? I made a video on an extremely pristine one despite having high mileage. They have a different magic with them haha! Never thought I'd love one till I drove one.
@BomberFletch313 жыл бұрын
@@KyleLiongCars I watched that video. But to me, the W123s aren't special. I haven't driven one, but even its styling doesn't draw me in to one, let alone seeing how basic some of these are. I associate Mercedes-Benz with luxury, and the W123 is more utilitarian than luxury. Aesthetically, I like the W116 a lot better, even though it's an older design. But again, I am probably biased, because my first experience with Mercedes-Benz was riding in the back seat of a W116 280S as a kid. Do you have any plans of testing a W116 at some point in the future?

Mercedes did not lie a out the engine size 😂 its 5547ccm (5,547 liters). A lot regulation differs from country to country, but some regulations forces the manifacture to round up, in stead of round down the engine specs. So Mercedes did that to cover all bases and then it sounds bigger as well 😂

@@KyleLiongCars interesting i remember saddam used have one during his rule in iraq during the 80s. Dictors and world leaders love benz and not beamers because of it's rich history and they know a long lasting quality built german car even the Führer had one. Any benz old one are worth the keep and would last you a lifetime.
@KyleLiongCars3 жыл бұрын
Glad you mentioned Saddam’s. Doug Demuro mentioned that he reviewed one that is just as Saddam ordered it. Well, he’s wrong. Watch part 2 to see how Saddam would have actually ordered it hehe Yes old Benzes are really amazing that’s why I’ve had 5 old Mercs now. Have just kept one though: my W140

Too bad that me, a fellow Indonesian barely get the chance to see them on the road cuz Soeharto (A former President) owned one and the rules that owning a car that is the same as the President (Back in Soeharto's era) is considered as a "Criminal Offense". Hence why the W126 is very rare ( at least where i live) Sad really :(

First to do is how to pronounce the star brand right! We on the other side of the big water hate it when people can't even pronounce the nr.1 brand in the world right. You can practice by watching this German guy's video. He'll work it out with you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3iaeHV9mKZ1j7M By the way a very nice car and a very chique colour.
