Yeah I can personally relate on the big difference of the two cars because we have both of these cars. Innova is really plain and basic while the okavango is so luxurious, high tech and very fun to drive. We have the okavango for 7 months now and no problem so far. I just hope Geely will have a good aftersales service here in the province just like we experienced in Toyota. But all I can say our okavango so far so good! Keep it up Geely!

Everyone that I know, has either owned or driven a Toyota Innova. It's without doubt, the perfect family MPV. It's Reliable, Nippy, Looks Good and Fuel efficient. It also has variants that will cater to every caste. From the Basic J that manong Taxi Drivers from Baguio drive, to the Top of the line V which doesn't look out of place when parked next to mid-sized luxo-barges. But with it now costing more than the Camry, it's more feasible to buy the new kid on the block. The Okavango.
@KyleLiongCars
@KyleLiongCars 3 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I agree with you there. To add to that, the current model's V variant isn't exactly as "luxurious" as it was back when this body was first released so it sure is looking old in the looks and features department

The only thing Toyota Innova has advantage over Geely Okavango is the fuel consumption. Geely Okavango is only available in 1.5 ltr. gasoline engine (Premium Gasoline is the recommended to use) while the Toyota Innova is available in diesel. The rest of it, Geely Okavango is the winner. In terms of looks, no need to explain plus panoramic sunroof Geely is the winner. A real head turner. Technology (very advance and very clear 360 camera and sensors, remote control start engine / turning on the aircon (So its cold already when you enter the car) and remote control opening of trunk (if you have things on your hand its easy to put it in the trunk). Has a deep compartment in the center armrest in the front row to make your drinks or food stay cold. Touch screen center console is big, clear, bright and lot of useful things there (but the sad thing is its not android / I phone compatible), Speed (3 options eco, comfort and sport for Geely Okavango).... its fast....way faster than toyota innova. Space, the Geely okavango is way bigger (Can fit 12 passengers...yes we did it 3 days ago....Even us....we are all shock......even my 5'8 feet niece seats comfortably on the 3rd row. We tried it many times. Right now Geely Okavango has 3yrs free PMS service. This is my personal experience. I've driven many toyota innova both manual and automatic but its no way near the Geely Okavango except for fuel consumption because diesel is way cheaper than premium gasoline. But if you are always stock in traffic and a slow driver then its very economical.

To be honest, it will be hard to fault those who'll go with the Innova. It's reliable as fuck, has power, fuel efficiency, space, and good NVH suppression. When you buy an MPV, you need it to serve its purpose as a people-hauler, a family vehicle. Wala dapat sakit sa ulo. For upper middle class people, it's an Innova on the garage as a utility then a second car in which they enjoy.

i was choosing between innova ang okavango. ended up going with innova for its reliability and simple but essential features. maganda ang features ng okavango no doubt about it. but at the end of the day i decided that i really don't need all those features. the more complex something is, the more things can go wrong. i don't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere with some problem that a run of the mill mechanic cannot figure out. siguro if geely's presence and infrastructure in the country will be stronger then it's a different story.

Kasama sa ownership experience ang maintenance, at kung isa isa nang kailangan palitan yung mga parts, laking sakit ng ulo kung matagal ang downtime dahil sa paghihintay dumating yung stock.

@KyleLiongCars

Tbh I haven't tried it on both of those scenarios, but seeing as it has way more usable power than the Innova when both have only 1-2 passengers, I'm sure it can easily do 7 as well. For off road, I guess super mild off roading is fine, but lacking four wheel drive and adequate ground clearance + locking differentials makes it unsuitable for heavy off roading.

I'm leaning more on Okavango before. thinking that it is using a Volvo tech and it is way cheaper than CRV. but when the news about Volvo buying out Geely, I might change my mind. maybe someone here might give their opinion about my comparo models. i will appreciate it to help me choose the right car for me.
@KyleLiongCars
@KyleLiongCars 3 жыл бұрын
Tech wise, it’s really a no brainer to go for the Okavango as well as 3rd row space. The CRV though might have better resale value, and as of now, will surely have more available parts than the Okavango. Not sure how Geely parts availability will be in the next few years but given their sales numbers, I’m sure parts will soon be abundant, As for Volvo buying out Geely’s stake, at least for the already designed Okavango, I doubt it will make any difference

Kyle, based on the fuel economy and price of fuel as of this writing, approximately 1peso/km or even more is their difference. So if long 600km (Cavite-Sagada v.v) drive with Innova will cost around 2800+php for diesel at let us say 10kpl and 50/L diesel. For Okavango, it will be around 4000+php for the same distance at 8kpl and 55/L gasoline. Do you think it is worth it? Kapalit ng features, comfort, and nimbleness?

I wouldn’t say lahat ng parts meron and for sure hindi as readily available as Toyota for now. Pero down the line, the more popular it gets, the more 3rd party sellers will surely carry parts for Geely cars. As of now though, dealers are required to keep a wide array of parts in stock for usual problems and PMS, so don’t be afraid na matetengga kotse mo…. Unless major accident or major issue
@quannar
@quannar 3 жыл бұрын
I think kahit yung ibang established brand like those Korean brands and some Japanese like Suzuki nagkaka issue sila din sa Parts what more pa sa baguhang Brands like Geely na recently lang sila sa market - but to answer your question, yes matagal talaga parts based sa feedback ng mga Geely Owner sa mga FB Groups may isa akong nabasa umabot ng 5months bago naayos ng Casa. But again konting cases lang yun compare sa halos 90% happy sila Geely Cars nila. With the current road conditions at madaming kamote riders sa atin expect mo na anytime magakakaissue ka sa sasakyan mo kahit anong pagiingat mo so mag Toyota kung issue mo parts or wait for three to five years baka that time wala na masyado issue sa parts si Geely ✌️

Well in this time, tataas lang lalo ang presyo ng petrol ng Cars, and that's a major advantage of Innova, and its deisel. for occasionally use ng cars ok ang Okavango. Pag people hauler Innova pa din daw as per manong na nag wawakaran from Cam Norte - Manila, laking tipid kumpara sa mga kasama nya na naka 7/5 seaters like expander and coolray. And the word RELAIBILTY is big factor, if mga 10 years na dito sina Geely and they can attached the word Reliabilty in their brand. for sure matatalo na yang Toyota.
@KyleLiongCars
@KyleLiongCars 3 жыл бұрын
Yes I do agree na hindi pa subok si Geely, but hopefully we will know pero tama, mga 5-10 years pa bago magkaka-alaman. Kahit tumaas pa presyo ng gasolina, problem is napakatagal bago mabawi yung price difference. For example kahit Innova gas vs Innova diesel na lang. Kahit na mas matakaw and mas mahal presyo ng gasolina, laki naman ng price difference and mas mura bilhin yung Innova gas.

What I'm basically saying is people gamble with these new brands, and its no small investment unless you are filthy rich.
