Replacing the pcv or ccv vent and rubber grommet if yours is broken or oil leaking out of it for jeep with the 4.0L or 2.5L engines. Replacing in on project x the 2005 jeep wrangler with the 4.0l engine.

yep...that thing is a son of a gun to get out, especially if its old and brittle. My original 1999 TJ's rubber grommet was hard as a brick when it was cold. Had to run the engine for about 15 minutes to soften it up so I could take it out with a large screwdriver like you did.
