Sony fx3 Review/Tutorial | Filmmaking

I've been filming on the Sony fx3 for a bit and this video is essentially my thoughts about the system having come from a different camera platform.

I have both the red Komodo and the Sony a7siii, which is the same image sensor, dynamic range as the FX3 basically the same camera with different bodies. And for me there’s no way it’s beating the Red Komodo 16bit Raw dynamic range or colour science. But I think each camera serves a different purpose. But I prefer the colours and dynamic range for the red anyway from the Sony. I love Sony as well but I don’t know why they released two of the cameras with different the same bodies. But what I can appreciate is you can match the Image of a Red Komodo and Sony a7siii/FX3 if you need to use both in an interview shooting setting.

I hear and agree with your points. This video is In no way meant to be a comparison video with regards to the 16bit output of the RED and the 10bit out of the fx3. The RED is the clear winner there.

Welcome back! Yes, the new Sony cameras are beasts. Plus with 12-bit Prores RAW via the Atomos. This newer cameras are really removing the need for extra crew on set lol

Wonderful! It's interesting how these common mirrorless features (IBIS, AF) are of value to you after so long on a camera made for bigger productions. As with your all your music videos, even the one when you filmed it with a little Canon 600d (or something like that), it's about what you do with the tool rather than the tool itself. @@KyleWhiteTV that’s what we all hope for man! But honestly, the secrets I’ve learnt are 1. having a Great hook in the first 30 seconds. 2. Great thumbnails And most importantly, patience. Go easy on yourself, you’re transitioning your content from being strictly music videos and some BTS to full on tutorials, just keep going consistently and you’re gonna be gone gone! I really really am enjoying your videos so shoutout!
