I'm one year older (2000) and I've got a similar experience. I've always known of her because she is a global superstar and my parents used to listen to her growing up but I never really heard any of her music, just her legacy if that makes sense. Then I made an internet friend when I was around 17 and he happened to be Australian. After a while, we got close and started recommending each other music. Of course Kylie was one of his recommendations and I've never looked back since. I really wish to go see her live because I can tell that she is just an amazing performer and all of her music is pretty much TIMELESS, like it still holds up the same way as when it was released.
