She sings it well but I'm kinda disappointed that she didn't sing the high notes in the chorus and I know that she would've been more than able to hit those notes. I don't understand why she held back here.

No, she’s never hit those high notes live in full chest voice. They’re crazy high! You might think that she did on Showgirl tour, but she used her head voice for that (falsetto). A good example of how Kylie struggles when belting that high is Spinning Around on the original showgirl when she belts a note near the end. It’s really strained, weak and a bit pitchy. And arguably just holding a vowel sound like that (like OHHHHH or YEAAAAAAH”) is easier than singing whole lyrical phrases at a sustained high pitch.

Why doesn't she ever let rip in her high register on the choruses when she performs this song? That's the best part, dammit! That's what made the album version so good.

I was thinking the same thing! I found one version from the Princes Trust but that one has a mimed chorus and live verses. I can't imagine Kylie cannot hit the notes live so I can only presume she thinks it doesn't sound good live in the high pitch. If you do find a version let me know!

Unfortunately, this was lip synced. Most of Audience With was. I think Kermit was largely live and the final medley - and the Locomotion. A lot else wasn’t.
