Hey Kylted I was orange this game, was very cool seeing you narrate it. This is why we need a replay without fog, because I don't quite remember the exact specifics of this particular game other than being annoyed purple was completely ignoring the fact there was another player still alive. From the parts I can piece together from memory: I was trying set the Italy stacks up so you would be more inclined to hit purple. Purple and I were cool at the beginning so the natural progression here for me was to start choking you out, but he hit my Italy stack which may have been preemptive to my plan to make you and him enemies. I broke his central Europe once in response to Italy, which seemed reasonable but he started going off breaking me every turn. I tried to back off for a turn or two to show I wasn't interested in a war as we could have set up a card block on you getting 30ish troops a turn each but he didn't really care, so at that point I was resigned to playing for (a likely) second. I spent too much time thinking about whether to actually kill him or not on the last turn and that was the critical mistake as I ran 20 seconds off the clock before trading. A terrible cap roll tilted me a bit and I got distracted and missed the split off to get Sevastapol and the other countries around there without using my other cap stack, so I just cleaned out as much as I could so he'd get 3rd. The Iceland play was tricky but I would have rolled through and found it after clearing eastern Europe and Italy as there was no where else he could have been. I was super annoyed in game at my botched last turn and after seeing this video I'm even more annoyed as it likely would have been a really fun, grindy 1v1 after the purple kill. Anyway good game to you, fun to see I played a game with you even if we had very little interaction until the very end of the game. Not a good neighbor but statefarm was there in the end.

​@@KyltedThe Italy take apparently was too much for purple even though it put us nearly even in troop generation around 40... I'm not sure what he was thinking but he could have broken Scandy and we could have traded there instead and set up the wall around you, was a perfect situation for it. I decided to go all in on him after I left him with +30 on the turn after the Italy/Central Europe break as a peace offering and he immediately used that to rebreak everything I had. I made another mistake early game thinking green had the entire Africa pocket when I rolled the capital. Turns out black was still in there, saw the roll and took the green kill. I was hoping to kill guard green in Splitaly and save him for late game which would have massively helped considering how this one went. This also prevented me from snowballing into Black's capital which would have left me with the whole bottom sealed off AND would have (more peacefully) prevented purple from holding Orient. After thinking about this game more (some of them run together) I think purple ended up suiciding most of his troops on my Dinarides cap after I took the Russia capital. I think he opened you to Dinarides on the last turn so you might come looking that way instead as a last ditch effort to get second. If I had 4 cards I would have traded immediately and killed him but the 3 cards meant I wouldn't trigger a trade after the purple kill and I think I was deciding which caps were more important to the end game and spent too long in draft. I was mad I messed up but happy to see purple die first. I'm still new to the meta settings, I made GM playing classic fixed and just started playing these settings more seriously about two months ago. The end of this one definitely stuck with me as a learning opportunity. Still would have loved to see the master class in 1v1, I could definitely use some work there as well. Cheers.

sabin, what I like to do is I locally record all my games because when I see a content creator play me it's a joy to behold. I even narrate my videos but don't upload them. Not because I'm ashamed of it or anything, I just don't have the mental capacity for thumbnails and naming conventions and all that stuff. I've definitely played you before on the Archibald account too. Like 150 videos is about 150gb with my video settings, but you could make the videos even smaller if you wanted.

PLEASE don't let the Sideways -French change who you are! They're nothing to fear - if they inherited France's military _"prowess"_ then you have nothing to fear (unless they're being led by a clone of Napoleon)! Plus, if they get mad, you can just run away! I doubt they make it more than three blocks chasing you before the worst clog-blisters you've ever seen bring them to their knees! 😂

I felt that bad luck at the start. I was playing caps yesterday on a 1v1 with this guy and he always kept getting positive rolls even on caps and I would get negative rolls on regular stacks. Sometimes you just gotta shut it off and go home

That's the difference between real grandmasters and lower level players. I've seen both Pete and Fil down to one troop and still pull off wins (neither of which were even fog, and Fil's game wasn't even progressive it was fixed). No matter how beaten you might look, you're not dead until your dead.

As a Grandmaster and World Number 1, you'd think Kyle would know that there is a huge difference between a 3 and an 8 cap, as that activates the third defense dice of the Capital. (needing 4 troops minimum)

Actually you need just 3 troops to have the defender bonus. If you are attacking it's always 1 troop lower than the stack because you leave 1 behind as you attack, but in defense, ALL the troops defend... so 3 is still maxed at least for 1 roll
