F1 farewells Daniel Ricciardo!

Daniel Ricciardo left the paddock for what could be his last time as F1 driver. It was an emotional night for many after the 2024 Singapore GP as everyone was saying goodbye to Daniel Ricciardo. It has not been officially announced whether Daniel Ricciardo is leaving F1 or If Daniel Ricciardo is being replaced by Liam Lawson but after what I witnessed last night I have little doubt that this was Daniel Ricciardo's last F1 race with the team. He did not leave the sport quietly though, Daniel Ricciardo's fastest lap and Daniel Ricciardo's driver of the day in Singapore will be remembered for some time. It is a sad day for the sport and the fans. Thank you for everything Daniel.

It's nice to know SOMEBODY was there to document Daniel's [potential bc not confirmed STILL] last moments in F1 in such a beautiful way. I think it's crazy fans had no way to really say goodbye other than a driver of the day vote. I also think this non send off by the team puts Liam in a super awkward position for people to hate on him for nothing he has done.

F1 is brutal. No mid-season contract terminations have really had proper farewells. I feel for Daniel because he's been such a big part of the sport, but he's not the first and he won't be the last to be unceremoniously dumped mid-season.

Every 5 to 7 years 1 team dominates for a few seasons (though the turbo hybrid era was dominated by Merc) and then everyone catches up eventually. Repeat forever

I've got a chunk of Danny's car from the 2019 Australian GP, when he hit the grate and damaged his floor. It's on display proudly next to a DR cap and a mini helmet. You could say I'm a fan. There never seemed much hope that he'd be driving in 2025, but the way they did him dirty here was just awful. The man deserved better. To see the guy on the verge of tears in interviews was just.... damn. Hard watch.

Daniel has really been there since I started watching F1. Had just had this positivity about him as if he enjoyed every moment, and he raced like no tomorrow. I even had two shoeys in his honor when he got a podium in 2020 at Imola and his last win in '21. Now that he appears to be done, I'm just gutted. Even if his performance had dipped, he was a breath of fresh air every time we saw that big smile. Thank you, Danny Ric, best wishes to you, mate.

It's very gut wrenching to see what is happening to Daniel this week. I think people don't truly appreciate the impact that he has had on the sport. We all know that Drive to Survive has bought a lot of extra eye balls and money into the sport, and Daniel was the unquestionable star of the first few series. I think all the fans, and F1 in particular owe Daniel a huge debt of gratitude.

The way Red Bull/VCARB have handled this is disgusting! It’s very clear that it’s his final race, but not announcing it officially to Daniel or the Fans is not the way to treat such an experienced driver. He deserved a proper send off!! Nobody will begrudge RB wanting to swap Lawson in, that’s F1, it happens. But treat your driver with the respect he deserves. Disgraceful RB 👎 I hope you finish last in the Constructors now

I have watched Daniel since he began in F1 all those years ago. He was and is my favourite driver. Those years when he was taking wins from Mercedes were so epic to watch and I still believe if Red Bull had a good car in his best years he would have been champion. So many great nights up late watching the Honey Badger licking stamps.
