ufc's real, this is real, they're both real martial arts man. Watching Anderson Silva fight is as much of a thing of beauty as the precision in the strikes of these karateka

For goodness sakes, keyboard warriors, can't you watch ONE video without turning it into a massive flamewar? Any martial art that spars full-contact has worth to it. MMA fighters are incredibly talented, no doubt, but Kyokushin Karate fighters have proven themselves as well. Heck, some of the biggest names in the MMA world (GSP and Bas Rutten) trained in Kyokushin! Neither system is "useless" and martial artists of all flavors need to stop wasting their time bitching about why Himalayan Moose-Kicking is superior to Argentinian Rock-Wrestling, and JUST FUCKING TRAIN! Besides, Mongolian Car-Tossing is clearly the best martial art in the world, and if you want proof, come at me!

Where did you read this from? I am Thai and I never heard anything like that. All martial arts practitioners know that, when you train your skill high enough, the difference between each arts are very slim. Because, every arts ultimate goal is seeking the most effective way to finish off your opponent. No matter which arts you are training, you will reach the same goal as other people at the end.

end up on the ground for one person, the one who got KO'ed :) I know what you're saying about fights ending up on the ground, but 90%? that stat has just been made up because: 1. a big portion of fights don't go to the ground, and 2. you can't possibly track how many out of all the fights have ended on the ground, so that stat is completely fictive.

Sport karate or actual karate? (Also, there are many styles of karate and several different rulesets for karate tournaments.) Sport rules in any martial art generally restrict what you can do so people don't get crippled. Even judo and jiujitsu rules don't allow certain locks and throws that are part of their own arts.

@TheProdigy260592 Different martial arts have varying ways of showing respect/bowing. Kyokushin 'bows' differently as you always keep your eye on your target, keeping protected.
@black989711 жыл бұрын
that's because it's kyokushin karate and not tradtional karate. Kyokushin is actually effective and does look somewhat like Muay Thai.

Very strange, Chiquinho kicks, Andy holds the leg Chiquinho, at this moment, but just at this moment the referee whistles to acknowledge the "grab" Andy!, He is a "space" of time after (or during) the whistle of referee Chiquinho and sticks a Mawashi Gueri face!! would be a Knockout "clean?". Here is my question!.

Fica aqui a minha dúvida!.

fight between Hug and Fillio might be two legends, but that was definetly not there best. No use of fists, no body shots only huging and kicking from a far....
@NuttachaiTipprasert11 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about Kyokushin or Muay Thai? If it was Kyokushin, I'm not quite sure. Maybe they allow elbow to the body but, AFAIK, you cannot use elbow strikes or punches your opponent in the head. In Muay Thai, however, everything allowed.
@RafaelAntizz12 жыл бұрын
I heard this in the documentary of the first world championship kyokushin karate. here: /watch?v=q4mhu1MehY8 At the point where they talk about the muay thai fighters that participated in the contest. The other fact I agree. though the experiences of getting to that point will differ. I've done muay thai. and still doing kyokushin. I think kyokushin brings you closer to a state of mind called Mushin, a zen expression. No fear, no anger, no ego. Osu.

My god is that legal.You can kill someone with that.You learn Karate as self defense but after going to a tournament you can lose your life from Karate.
@HueyShabazz11 жыл бұрын
I think modern teachers do that. Weren't the Samurai of Japan taught grappling and ground fighting even with their armor on? Maybe I'm wrong. I'm not very knowledgeable bout traditional arts.
@lemonvariable727 жыл бұрын
HueyShabazz So, the ground aspect that gave rise to Brazillian Jiujutsu was actually from a school of traditional Jiujutsu that kano decided to incorporate into judo after he saw how effective. So we do know that in late Jiujutsu in the restoration and Edo eras there was at least some ground fighting. it makes perfect sense though that samurai would train some ground fighting given that European Knights did, and the context they fought in. If you on a battlefield, and you lose your footing, it's makes sense to try to train warriors to at least regain their footing with out dying

because a kick gets you off balance, its much much safer to punch someone than to kick someone. You have to lift your leg to kick which means you'll be standing on only one leg, thats why they dont kick as often as you see in movies. but then again you dont see people taking 30 hits to the face in real life either.
@ab793818 жыл бұрын
