I dunno, I respect kyokushin for its intensity, but it’s oddly ugly, just continuous arm punches to body and some kicks thrown in. I much prefer the distance work and speed of shotokan.

I don't understand anything about karate. It's just that what I saw in this video can hardly be called a martial art. It is unlikely that this will help you in a real street fight.

@@haraldodunkirk1432 You havent seen the real one yet. Those you've seen are amateurs. The masters are all very calculating. Try search for Shokei Matsui kumite. That one is the best example.

@@ЭдуардГутник-н8и in this video they fight according to rules and trying their best to score a point. In the street you do not have to score a point, probably you will land or receive a kick in the head and fight is over.

I like the kyokushin karate style. But I do not understand: Why they do not train to protect their faces from punches? (Since if someone is attacked on the streets this is the most commom target.) Why punches to the head are not allowed but kicks to the head are allowed? (What is the reason behind these rules?) This way of practice seems very strange to me. An unarmed martial art should prepare you to defend yourself in the case of a unarmed violent case right? Or am I wrong? Why when they train punches they put their hands back to their hips but when they fight they keep their hands high? (Not high enough to defend their faces.) Those things does not seem odd for someone else or just me?

There’s no punches to the face but we train kick-boxing as well so we get into a rhythm of protecting the head.

We cross-train in Lethwei for face-crushing. Kyokushin for dexterity, Lethwei for self-defense & combat.

Karate was created as a way to defeat an enemy using empty hands(no weapons). Over time, Karate became a sport and point Karate became popular. Mas Oyama founded Kyokushin. Kyokushin’s main objective is to KO your opponent. There was no points given for landing a strike. You only won when you KO’d your opponent. Japanese thought Kyokushin was too violent and refused to accept it as legit Karate. Mas Oyama wanted Kyokushin to be accepted in Japan. So, he removed head punches in order to weaken Kyokushin so Japanese would accept Kyokushin as real Karate. You’re right, not using head punches weakens Kyokushin. If you mix kickboxing, boxing, or Muay Thai with Kyokushin you’ll be nearly unstoppable as a striker. Andy Hug, Glaube Feitosa, Francisco Filho, Tenshin Nasukawa, and GSP all use Kyokushin. They mixed it with boxing and kickboxing though!

Аххаха 6 боёв подряд проходняк. Отсутствие противника. У меня есть объяснение этому. Никто тебе не спонсирует поездку, затраты на гостиницу, еду и т.д. даже дети едят за свой счет на региональные соревнования. Не говоря о международных. Самая жадная организация в спорте. Самые маленькие гонорары и никакой помощи действительно талантливым спортсменам. Денег нет сиди дома как говорится...
