Thank you for the review !! I’m driving my dads hobao hyper 7 , we got it when I was a teen , and I just grew up and never touched it, i thank my dad for keeping it and giving it to me years later as a 34 year old adult, I took the hyper 7 to my local hobby store they fixed it and got it running ! Thing purrs like a kitten for being so old ! But I am looking into this kyosho as my next buy !

Love the enthusiasm man. If was in the market for a for an RTR nitro this looks like a great option. I spent too many years fiddling with nitro “mostly heli”. But the heart pumping excitement of a nitro is a huge allure to some. Thanks for the review.

This deck reminds me of my first RC monster truck Arrma Outcast 1/8 BLX, which I bought preowned. This buggy is a good choice for someone tired of A-brands in RC. Not a nitro version. Thanks for the review 🇺🇦🇺🇸

I have the same buggy, but with T3 body. Bought for fun, as I have other 1/5 scale models (FG touring and KM Bajas)... but I find the 1/8 scale more usable both in small spaces and in large parks. I lowered the car via the higher holes on the shock turrets. I installed anti-roll bars, and immediately saw improvements in stability. After a gallon i still have the original plastic spur, because out of the box i changed the mesh, so i have almost a perfect coupling. But i have the steel 46 teeth spur in the box, just in case lol

I had the brushless version great club level racer. All I did upgrade was shock towers diff 5/7/3 and servo. Regret selling it
@keithrx3c2 жыл бұрын
Personally, I don't think the plastic spur gear is an issue at all, unless the gear mesh isn't set right. As someone said before, the mesh is too loose from factory and looking at my 3.0 (that I still haven't run yet) I would agree that the mesh definitely needs adjustment as it's way too loose. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is done deliberately at the factory so that people strip them and buy the metal spur gear. I've had a few Inferno's over the years and still have my old '99/'2000 ish MP7.5 Sports that came as a kit with the GS21R engine (before the all the RTR MP7.5's came out) and I never had to change the spur gear on it because I always made sure the gear mesh was set properly.

couldn't agree more. I actually went from metal to plastic spur on my MP9, never had a problem stripping and way more quite.

I don't know, it always bums me out seeing the old pro models being cheaped down. Silicone fluid in 4 gear diffs, thicker shock towers,alloy shocks should be included at that price point. Kyosho already made a pile of dough on the old 7.5 pro platform...that being said I'm glad to see they still offer the glow models.

Great review but coming from someone who has both the kyosho neo 3.0 and mp9 tki4 read set. I honestly believe it is definitely worth the extra $150 for the mp9 ready set. The mp9 still has a lot better part support for it compared to the neo. Try to get a body for neo 3.0 and then try to get one for the mp9, you will have multiple bodies to choose for a mp9 while the neo is almost nonexistent. The mp9 has a better clutch, better shocks and sway bars included. They both have their quirks but I believe the mp9 ready set is the best value for a 1/8 rtr nitro buggy.

Nice buggy. Like the HPI it has a wrap around clutch which are pretty rubbish, you need to change the flywheel to be able to run a proper 3 shoe racing clutch. Luckily the electric version comes with the steel spur stock, not into nitro myself. Why so light on the fluid? I found 300k in the center on my typhon to be barely acceptable
@RazorRC2 жыл бұрын
1/8 dirt track racing generally uses light fluids for better handling.
@Brandon_Nelson922 жыл бұрын
Different diff designs also run different fluid ranges. For example, traxxas center diffs need 500k+ to be acceptable. Traxxas sells 3million wt. In my old brushless-converted OFNA 1/8 truggy and buggy, 50k was good and 100k was too thick, resulting in standing backflips and broken rear diffs. Even with 30k, the front tires didn't balloon much more than the rear.

Well spec'd rtr, especially for bashing although diff fluid makes a lot more sense and a metal spur is a must (look out for those cast spindles, as well). For club racing, diff oil is a must and racing clutch. Overall, great value!
