This kit, when you think about it, is EXACTLY what the Turbo Ultima RE RE kit would have been like (No need of the original over engineered shocks - anodised GM like the Optima Pro). It makes this release relevant. Cannot wait for you to do a Turbo Ultima body (because of course that is what you will go with!). Pargu alloy wheels would be a great complement.

It is a very nice looking buggy and an excellent kit. I got the Ultima re-re (kit 30625 or something like that) last year and it's awesome, this is an upgraded version of that really. The one I've got runs so well, haven't had any issues with it so far, and I run it outdoors on a track that's a mixture of grass/astro/dirt, it is superb!

I really want this one. Totally worth it for all the optional parts it comes with, and it will match my Optima Mid WC. Not to mention, Kyoshos are bamfs. The only reason I'm not gonna buy it tho, is because I'll end up putting it on a shelf, right next to the Optima Mid WC that I swear I'm gonna drive one day 😅

I think I might want to get the JJ kit with the saddle pack plate as it would be nearly a 1:1 with my Original Ultima Pro buggy which I want to protect and keep in good condition while making a dedicated vintage class racing buggy. Nice to see Kyosho bring back the good stuff even with an annoying premium to the cost of it. I wonder how much of it can be retro fitted to the Original chassis.

Go for the Turbo Ultima! It is the closest to the 20th, and has the same anodized chassis as the Turbo. The XL and Pro have different chassis and gold shocks. All you. need is a white wing and the silver wheels and you would be off to the races!

$605 to $670 here in Australia. You both should think yourself lucky haha! After not long finding new rear wheels for my brand new Turbo Ultima this Ultima has nothing on it looks wise for me! I would go with the Ultima Pro body, very cool scheme and the Turbo Ultima body just doesn't look good to me without the correct wheels.

I think I will stick with my JJ car. Gavin did you notice? The Marwan tires look the same except for one thing. The Kyosho tires have the "Bridgestone" livery on the tires. The reproduction tires have another livery that looks like "Bridgestone". I do not think it is a big deal. Thoughts?

If I was going to drive it, I would drop a brushless HW sensored motor in it. if I was flush, I would git the kyosho brushless gold motor as thats a stunner.

Do the box art green, no doubt in a couple years Kyosho will release the Ultima Pro and so on. You’ll end up having to decide whether you’ll get one of those when we all know you will… so for the video sake… yeah paint up a second body but it’ll be cool to see the Akira spec Optima and Ultima matching pair on a shelf together. Also here in NZ I paid $800 for my JJ pre order and later on I got my dad one for $1100 NZ soooo… yeah ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’m just waiting for the TOMS now :)

I have the jj and now the 20th. They are exact same cars and the manual is exact up to the chassis on the 20th. Then it is literally the same thing. I only got this because I wanted abnormal ultima that seem to never be in stock. I plan on doing the white rims and getting the repo tires from marwan. Trying to find the correct body seems impossible. But the body that comes w the 20th is super stupid. In order for you to have the extend rear wing pieces you have to use that sheet to cut them out from the extra polycarbonate. For the price they should have just included them. The only difference from this and the jj are wheels and chassis. Other than that it’s the exact same car. I was very disappointed

£379 in the UK (£409 RRP), $359 in the states; so already a huge discrepancy with the price being crazy high in the UK... but it's actually much worse than that. The average yearly income in the UK is £34,963, in the US it's $63,795; so in real terms (comparatively to income) we're essentially paying double in the UK. Obviously not an issue just with this particular car, it's like this with all sorts of stuff.

I just checked to see how much $359 is in £ and its £290, why are these cars £70/80 more in the uk? Thats a huge difference! I can't afford these things no matter how much i want one, i have as i am sure others have so many more more important expenses. Its a toy car at the end of the day. I want to get back in to RC but i can't justify spending this for something i want. Looks like i will have to just take up walking. 🚶‍♂️

The UK government racked up the sales tax to 20% so that is normally more than most other countries. You have to allow for the % difference. Most the time you will still see a discrepancy and that’s down to more taxes on businesses and them passing it down to the customer.

The JJ is a replica of his car. This car is tha Akira Spec. Hands down this one. And you Brits can stop whinging about the kit price as well, landed here in Australia it's in the mid $600 range. Edit: The Pro livery. I love the Pro XL, but the decal set and livery is horrific.
