Close I would have guessed from the noise the pinion gear was slipping on the motor shaft that brushless gave it new life wow that's awesome be able to turn sand scorcher into a glass maker great video again Brent 👊

The spur quality is very poor, same parts but the old ones did not sound like that. The brushless combo has given it a lot of power.

Yeah I have seen several others with the poorly molded spur gear so it seems like that is going to be the way they are. Kind of a poor decision to ship them like that as a lot of folks are going to complain and be requesting replacement gears. Seems like they could have caught this prior to shipping them out.

interesting video! It is the first video that analyzes the internal gears of the differential! It is always good to learn how our gearboxes are made (apparently the pair of gears that is right next to the diff, are identically the same as the sandmaster, axxe, nexxt and monster tracker!) It would be good if you told us after a while of use with brushless which gears were the ones that wore out...(I love this buggy, but many youtubers do not recommend doing it brushless) because Kyosho has very bad spare parts support for this model (Thanks for the fantastic contribution) I recommend getting 1 gearbox as a spare for this stroller!

Looks like good fun with that bit of extra power! Nice bit of autopsy and diagnosing, always interesting to follow and learn a bit! The buggy is pretty cool, but still seems a bit toy'ish... I was kind of interested but I thinbk the hype is fading a bit... Still enjoy watching it on video, of course!

Kyosho relaunched the sandmaster 2.0 and a few days ago the axxe 2.0 which is the brother of the sandmaster (it has the same chassis and gearbox) but taller tires (I also realized that the 91-tooth spur gear is poorly made from the factory ( I hope Kyosho corrects this error Greetings friend

This thing is Just a tank out there. Everything seems to be pretty well made. imo .. Only 2 gears in the diff, a little weird. Well? "A" you know Exactly what is in the WHOLE drive train and it is working fine. "B" figured out the noise. ;) lol All good . I get the feel, this one is a tough buggy. I Like It. :)

What a joke they update everything and they still used that cheap plastic pinion gear come on kyosho stop being so CHEAP! may be faulty you should tray running it off the ground and put some baking soda in tooth past or grease and run it like how you shown and keep adding more when it displaces away from the gears run it for a while and clean it all off and hopefully it will mesh smoother. if using the tooth past with added backing soda you may need to ad a drop of water to the gear when it starts drying out when your breaking it in when running it.

I sanded the gear a bit but definitely low quality gears they definitely should have done better the spur is so cheap

Yes it does and all the electronics seem decent to just the gears are poor quality

The noise is because the gear mesh is way too tight. You shouldnt have that much resistance and there is zero space between the spur and pinion. The gears must be dead by now.

Non adjustable mesh factory set holes the gear was not true after replacing with gpm gears that were high quality runs great

Might be pretty good in this thing!! Muhahahaha!!!! I love taking a motor out and rolling them free. Man lots of plastic, great tear down, was real nice work I had a spur gear slightly damaged and made same noise , shaved some bent corners, but it did it in its own!! Those wheelies will machine it off!!!
