First released in 1986, the 2WD ULTIMA channeled racing tech from the OPTIMA into an electric racing buggy whirlwind that swept across the world. Consistent with the Vintage Series, the 2019 ULTIMA version has evolved in design and build to satisfy performance standards for modern R/C racing circuits and power sources. For example, the monocoque frame is made from aircraft grade A60601T6 aluminum alloy and multi-pin block pattern rear tires deliver optimal performance on modern off-road tracks. Full ball bearing specs minimize drive loss and combine with high-durability sintered alloy metal gears, slipper clutch and motor guard to protect the drive system while crash-resistant resin rear wing is also included.

I Never really liked The Ultima. My first 2WD buggy was an RC10 Graphite Stealth Edition. My absolute favorite 4WD is the Javelin though. It was also my first car that I still have in mind condition tricked out all original Option house Parts. I still prefer 4wd because they are just faster and through more dirt!! Lol But all the best drivers raced 2wd Mod so at 14 I had to do the same! At 15 in Alaska I won 2wd mod buggy and Stadium truck and went back to 4wd just because I was an egotistical kid and wanted to prove them wrong! Never won 4wd state because I discovered girls!! Thank God because I was a fat little nerd and toy cars didn't impress the girls! I sold almost everything and bought a Supercharged Dodge Daytona and got into bodybuilding!! Girls don't mind a toy car as long as you play with them more and you have a six pack and big arms!! It really was that simple!! I am just glad I kept all my vintage stuff!!! I have 10s of thousands of vintage parts that are new because just boxed everything up when I stopped working at the local hobby shop! When a set of vintage stickers for a Turbo Optima Mis Custom SE went for 300 buck I was so pissed I didn't get more back then! I have a Vintage T. Optima Mid Custom SE that I have every option made for it back then and it has never been run! I would love to know what it is worth!!
