This school is ACTUALLY, WORLD RENOWNED. They can ACTUALLY hold that title. I've been watching them for yrs. They play, march and dance during the parade. Them girls and few guys are great. That school in Japan is top notch....

I've been following these kids for at least 6 years now. They are simply amazing. I honestly think these kids don't know how good they are. They travel miles and bring smiles. They have so much energy it is passed along to the spectators. Guys, look for their video of Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" and enjoy. By the way, I've read that much of the choreography is the work of the students.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Marching Band. The "Orange Devils" are nothing short of amazing. I've known of the KT SHS for a long time, back when I was in HS on Maui, Hawaii, when the Orange Devils had a "exchange visitation" program with Maui HS Marching Band. Back then in the 80's, they were impressive, although they didn't do the dancing style they are doing now, but their sound and their movements were out of this world even back then. Dive on in the rabbit-hole and experience all the glory that is KT Orange Devils. You asked how long does it take for them to get this good? SHS in Japan has 1st year Freshmen, 2nd year Juniors and 3rd year Seniors. So about 1/3 of the members changes out every year. The 1st year members of this band started training probably in April of 2024, so about 8 months training.

Thanks for featuring this band on your channel. I’ve been following them for a while along with other schools from Japan if you haven’t checked out their indoor band battles (competition ) I recommend that you do marching band over there. It’s just as serious as marching band over here.

This is an exhibition of the bands in the Rose Parade. They do dominate competitions, getting GOLD in the last 4 Japan nationals. You should also watch them in the parade dancing while playing for 5.5 miles.

Many middle and high school brass bands practice every day before school starts, during lunchtime breaks, and in the evening after classes. They also train during spring, summer, and winter vacations and even hold training camps when necessary.

And consider that unlike the US where most kids go to their neighborhood school, in Japan, you have to pass a test to attend a school you want (like college in the US), so many students don't actually live in Kyoto and have to travel many miles and maybe 1-2 hours to even get to school!

@@nasubichannel Well, I don't really know the percentage of students NOT from Kyoto, but if you want to be part of this band, and many do, then you need to test into the school. That's also why rehearsals are long and end well into the evening, but academics are never an issue.
