The stamina required to be a 5 foot 5 female, dancing, singing, and playing for five miles, all while carrying a tuba. Not only does the tube require a tremendous amount of air to play, it’s also god damn heavy! To dance with one on your back for five miles?! Literally insane. So much respect for these girls. And the 12 or so boys.

@@voidremoved I dont know about tubas, but for long parades with trumpets, you usually have to do at least 1 drain during a stopping point. usually its planned out ahead of time.

I think the average height for a Japanese lady is a tad less than 5' 5" actually... Asians aren't known for their tallness heh. And the girl carrying the glockenspiel looks quite small sized and yet manages to lug that around!
@rogerwilco24 жыл бұрын
@Ernesto Galura The sousaphones maybe, but the tubas are clearly full brass. Those are heavy. I have played one in a marching band. What they are doing is really, really impressive.

I can’t believe that there’s a girl with a prosthetic leg here marching and hopping like how everyone else does. She’s such an inspiration for all of us. And apart from that fact, I really love when she has her shy smile on her face. She’s beautiful both inside and outside and I’m praying for her happiness. God bless her.

I marched in this parade in 1990 with the One More Time Around Again Marching Band. It is a long grueling parade route, although the wonderful crowds help you keep the energy going. But it is definitely not easy to do even playing simple songs (think "Louie Louie"). It is especially hard on the brass players. For these kids to keep this up for over 5 miles is remarkable. These kids have my greatest respect.

I was a band geek, too, back in the day (over three decades ago) and my HS marching band was absolutely NOTHING like Kyoto Tachibana!! It's not just the innovative choreography which includes loud cheers and even singing, but the pure JOY in their faces as they push the limits of human stamina, lungpower and intestinal fortitude! To call them a class act would be a gross understatement. These girls and the handful of boys-each one a triple-threat performer-are a talented, jubilant, self-disciplined group who could breathe life into a ghost town by marching down its main thoroughfare!!

Their good energy & positivity is contagious!! And that originality! They don't need to win any marching band contests. They are outside the "box" and they should stay there and have tons of fun!
Barely and mistakes, Fully synchronized, no one off key... And here I thought it was hard enough just to play an instrument. These Highschoolers play in a massive marching band, dance and play at the same time and they do it SMILING. Just wow!
