The effort put into this video is excellent, I genuinely with this channel got way more traction. In terms of the anime, the first impression I had was "eew" but over the last couple of days I've grown to appreciate the mecha design and I hope as much effort goes into the story, that's in comparison to the team toaster behind it.

So, it's not actually a "Gundam" anime, and it's more just that the same studios and artists are involved. No problems here. I've been needing a new mecha anime for a while. Also! One of those mechs you were showing from older series for the designer's portfolio was very similar looking to the mechs from Knights & Magic.

Honestly it seems promising, sunrise has always produced a lot of mecha greats outside of gundam, having the first new mecha ip from them in 7 years is really refreshing. Also xebec has always had some great talent and animes as a whole, so I'd say it'll probably turn out pretty enjoyable

Really great video that actually talks a lot about Mecha designers, a lot of ppl don't really care or know about them. Without them there'll be no soul! Just one correction, Gusion rebake and Full city are designed by Washio Naohiro which is also the designer for the 3 Throne gundams, Arche, Barbatos, Bael and more.

Zeta Kai this is another great video, something completely new I liked so much! I try to be always updated and I knew of this new Anime series, but your work on this video, all the informations about the staff who's working on this series, are awesome. I knew them and in which series they were involved, but I didn't know what mecha they designed, so I can only thank you Zeta Kai! Talking about the Anime in itself, it reminds me Code Geass and IBO, but I have doubts about the main character that, in this kind of narrative universe, it seems too...weak! I don't want to be pessimistic so I'm going to wait patiently to watch the Anime, even because I like the mecha design! It's a little weird compared the "classic Gundam characteristics", but I like it and honestly I'm still waiting for the Model Kits...even if I have to wait at least until December (here in Italy) if I'm lucky! Thanks again Zeta Kai for all these informations and the aesthetic of the video, I like the style you used and, as always, the way you communicate so I'll watch other videos like this with pleasure! iono. i think anime fans been helping confuse the people making anime. the original gundam storyline was actually really good, and they have redone its plot points a dozen times over.... they dont want to leave UC century cause it sells, but i bet they have an entire team working on ways to just do the same but different. if they just make a new version of the same old stuff, it feels off. if they make somethign entirely new, a lot of peeps dont stick around. there is also the problem of what sells in Japan versus elsewhere

@@TheSignOfZeta nah 1st season mid felt like your typical dumb villian of the week with no actual say the villain isn't aware their weaknesses or underestimate to silliness. Dropped it. And the wiki of it had ending antagonist be the typically use everything from pervious so don't want to come back. Not to mention *SPOLIER* How do the enemy let them keep the ship there and not destroy knowing it's there? That's like your typical kid cartoon thing. And they had all chances yet they still didn't. 1st season was shit for me and I am not going to watch it back cause of those details.

There were quite a few bad mecha anime in the last few years like Cross Ange, that supernatural mecha anime that also came out (it was really slow & boring) the one with that green critter that was also generic, as well as Argevollen & Buddy Complex (I did enjoy Buddy Complex for what it was as well as Captain Earth, where they only focused character development with the main protagonists while the antagonists were only introduced just so the protagonists can fight them without them having character development of their own).

Not to rain on anyone's parade or anything but I honestly couldn't get myself excited about this. I'm happy to see more mecha anime as they have largely been overshadowed by the flood of isekai and other anime out there but as of currently we don't know enough about the plot for me to feel invested. Right now we have an introverted teen boy piloting a mech that's suppose to be a stand in for us as the viewer and an edgy teen out for revenge. I just hope that the world building would be more nuanced and not just good vs bad, that's all I ask for. As for the mech design I taught it was pretty underwhelming but maybe it'll grow on me.

I don't know... I'm not feeling it with the mecha designs. The feel and looks like basic training units like in Gunbuster or Goddanner. Though I look forward to see the more stylish crazier designs that would come from the series. As to what has been shown. I would call this basic advanced. Basic body but with advance internals. As for characters designs based off fan demographic isn't a good idea in my option.

I know I’m on a video for a channel about gunpla but there was so much more discussion about the designs as opposed to whether the plot might actually be good (writing, etc). I might be in the minority but a reason I like gunpla is the attachment I have from the series they come from. I might not care too much if the series sucked, even if the design is cool. It can’t be only about the designs of the mechas, right?

Sadly, they didn't put the right Gundam staff for the writing. Noboru Kimura will be supervising the script of this show, he is the same hack writer who ruined *Gundam Build Divers* that Sunrise had to fix it with Build Divers *Re:Rise* by replacing Kimura with Yasuyuki Muto (Gundam Unicorn writer). He also had a role in writing the bad *Gundam AGE* show. Here's hoping Noboru Kimura will learn from his past mistakes and improve himself for the sake of this show.

Great Vid! Genuinely don't think anyone is going to care and this is going to bomb. The MC makes it look like this is going to be catered towards kids whereas adults already have all the UC stuff. I don't think these suits look good when compared to most Gundam mobile suits. Stripping off the good parts of Gundam and throwing it into a new genre isn't the way to make a new hit. Bandai are making billions, you think they could afford to not be creatively bankrupt.
