What is the Turntable controlling here? Is it just sending a clock signal to your sample player? I see you control the pitch with the keys and the gate with the crossfader but I cant tell what the Vinyl is affecting beyond that. Fantastic Video BTW

8MeanMike Thanks, in this song the crossfader is affecting the gates of the synthbass plus leadsound by Braids. The turntable is controlling the pitch of the verb decay plus the timbre and fourmant freqs of the Braids leadsound, making it sound like ‘talking’ a bit.

Ah ok, I think I see it now. You are using the pitch CV generated by the turntable just for altering the timbre changes and the actual Frequency of the sound is decided by that little keyboard. If im understanding correctly, Great idea!!! lol Im going to have to play with using the Pitch CV for Timbre instead of trying to use it for melody lol

@@8MeanMike yes, with 'normal' scratching the pitch is always modulated. the fun thing about syntablism is that you can take 'pitch' out of the equation and really create new sounds by scratching your patch!

When I heard of this style I started initially of maybe using my synths with the vocoders or even autotune on the Electro Harmonix 256 with turntables scratching audio vocal samples.
