If he could muster that mental toughness every singles game he played, he'd be world number one in 2 months and stay there for years. He's the only guy on the tour capable of playing literally unbeatable tennis. He's his own worst enemy is all.

In doubles Kygios's mind game is so much better. He is just so chill even on match points.
@bonzwah12 жыл бұрын
plus he seems like a decent guy when it comes to how he treats his friends and family. His singles career is basically self-inflicted abuse. but when he's got a team or teammate counting on him to perform, he finds the focus he lacks in his singles game.

That missed shot at the net from Murray is the most choked shot of 2020. It is really ironic because he accused his ex-doubles partner John Peers of choking.

@@jamesshou8976 I think it was when Jamie partnered with Soares or Andy and he made a comment "finally I have a partner that can get me through the finish line"

Completely disagree go watch the play again. That was not an easy shot. Was 3 feet away from the net and the ball bouced at the height of the net. Very hard shot to curl in at a high pace. Now he had the drop shot clear as day but its tough to make a drop shot off a quick reaction volley from kyrgios. Most choked shots of 2020 are anyone of the match points tsitsipas had against coric at us open. That was by far the biggest choke of 2020.
@TheMitchie213 жыл бұрын
Not the easiest shot to have. Plus he was right about Peers. That man is made for choking in matches.

Yes. So could Roger, Rafa, Novak,..... etc. They call the modern doubles guys 'specialists'. But that's code for 'can't make it in singles'. Having seen a fair bit of Federer playing team doubles, I think it's clear he could have been the greatest of all time if he'd wanted to. And that includes McEnroe.
