Hi, thank you very much for making these videos. I find them quite helpful, and I hope you continue making them. I called many repair shops, and nobody even wants to listen, so I hope that you might be able to help. I've recently installed a new fan clutch on 1998 cat c15 engine, and it was working fine for about 2-3 days. Now however, the fan stays on all the time, and I don't know what is causing this problem. Here are a few things that I was able to find out on my own: 1. I've replaced the fan clutch solenoid (no effect). 2. there's 8.9 volts going to the fan clutch solenoid (Shouldn't it be 12V?) 3. Solenoid part number A06-26631-000 4. Fan clutch is engaged when there's air in the system, and disengages when I disconnect the air tube that goes from the solenoid to the fan clutch. 5. Engine fan fuse seems to be fine. 6. Here's the link to the clutch I installed kit-masters.com/product-detail/?pid=53 I hope this information will help you to identify the problem, and thank you in advance for your help.

Have you checked your thermal switch? This is what sends the signal to the solenoid and yes the solenoid should be 12V. Your solenoid could also be plumbed incorrectly as it can be plumbed normally open or normally closed. We also recommend using a genuine Horton replacement for this. This clutch is air to engage so make sure all of your air lines are not broken or kinked. Lastly, you can check the system century as it may be burnt out and leaking off air.

Thanks for replying! Yes, I'm starting to get suspicious about the thermal switch (It's also called temperature sensor right?). In case someone is also reading it, I called Freightliner, and they gave me the part number for the temperature switch/sensor that should fit the engine 102-2240. And as far as plumbing goes, I think it should be good. It worked for 3 days without any problems after all... Thanks for your advice, you're awesome! I'll write an update once I get it fixed.

Yes the thermal switch could also be known as a temperature sensor. Hope you get it all figured out!
