In the future, archivists of the 20th century are going to come accross this deep cut, and be utterly stunned at how this was hiding in plain sight withonly a 100,000+ views. There will be a revival of Chung Kyung Wha's recordings and she will rise to the top of them all. Nobody, absolutely nobody beats her interpretation of Bartok! For us lucky 100,000 now. What a treat!

Absolutely amazing - from bar 1 (the harp plays portato, never heard that before). The orchestra completely emancipated from the soloist, and she is soooo good! I had lost track of her while she was not performing. Thanks to KZbin I can rediscover one of the greatest violinists of my own lifetime.

I'm not sure why my videos get ads; they not being my own property, my videos are not monetised. Guess it's just KZbin trying to increase their revenue or to encourage more people shifting to their pay-version app. If you're using Chrome browser, I recommend you to install AdBlock add-on.

I thumbed up the video. I really am impressed by Kyung-Wha, always, and I think forever. She is just a fabulous violinist. I listened to the entire playing, even though I really don't care for the composition. It's way too dissonant for me. Such works have always left me cold. A personal failing? I guess so. I prefer the beauty of her Beethoven and Mendelssohn performances.

Well, it was 30 years ago but a really wonderful performance. Kyung-Wha Chung and Myung-Whun Chung both performed well. Both grew more skilled and mature in subsequent years, but this was quite fine. I studied with my older sister for some years but performed only once with her. Loved it, though sis did give me a strange look on occasion. Well, you know how critical older sisters can be. I bet the maestro and his sisters enjoy playing together - they did beautifully in the Beethoven triple concerto back in 1984, which also included Myung-Wha Chung on cello.

@@twofinedays I'm sorry I have been listening to this version for a long time as far back as 2008. I remember watching her facial expressions as she played and would not forget one split second of this work. I see that this was posted in 2011. I can see the differences in the visuals. It is still great, I just love watching her powerful performance. Where can I get the video?
@twofinedays3 жыл бұрын
@@tomestubbs If it was on KZbin, it must've been from me. Back then one could only upload up to 10 min length, so I had to cut it into several segments. This version is the re-upload as a whole chunk. This and Beethoven Triple, which you can also find on my channel) were produced by SWR (südwestdeutsche rundfunk), and I purchased directly from them. That's well over 10 years ago, and I don't know if they provide the same service now.
