The auto tune wasn’t used to hide or fix her imperfections she used it as part of her arrangement and mixes that’s how talented she is. She’s one of a kind when it comes to her music.

If I remember it correctly, that was not autotune, it's called reverb I think.

I think the auto tune or whatever it was, is meant to parody a robotic cover of the song that consists of trying to mimic the original. I think she did it to draw a contrast with the new arrangement to follow in her performance.
@2kadoor3 жыл бұрын
Of all the reactions on KZ's "Rolling in the Deep" I have watched, you were the first and only person to mention about why the auto tune was allowed since this was supposedly a competition. I also thought the same thing but I realised later that it was part of the "drama effect" of her arrangement. That being said, she really got the attention of the audience ...and mine! 👏👏👏

@Wiley_Coyote4 жыл бұрын
The interesting thing about her is that she apparently started out as a "normal" singer, singing much higher, with glory notes and normal arrangements, but got vocal nodes and permanently lost a good part of her range. So she reinvented herself, singing in a lower range, adding rapping, adding less common vocal tricks that played with tone instead of range, and investing more emotional delivery into things (not best seen in this song, but listen to some of her others). In other words, she gained by losing.

She arranged that song. It was her own. Most Filipino Artists have a lot of experience on stage, because of how much they do it in the Philippines, such as ASAP. I think that's the best part of being an artist in the philippines. You're almost exposed every week. Which is why it looked so natural for her to do it in china. Because she's used to it, she's trained well, and she's very experienced as a performer and an artist. Love you KZ!

Thank you for your reaction & comments. It's the first time I've listened to a musician who knows how to use words and can comment in real time. You are amazing because you found a very good balance in your emotional assessment, attention to details and integrity of the commentary. You have only a few competitors in the whole world. Vocal teachers advertise themselves all the time and break up the performance into too many details, losing the integrity of the impression. Music critics and radio hosts can speak better, but often miss unique moments, and can't tell about the details that are interesting to the audience. KZ is an artist with a capital letter. With two capital letters)) No doubt. Unconditionally. I like her version of the song much more than the original. Not only musically, but as a show, and as a human position as well. As for the musical introduction, it seems to me that robotic sound wasn't used just to attract attention. - Such a sound gives the impression of a soul exhaustion, which surprisingly accurately conveys the experiences of a person who feels abandoned. This is an amazing musical solution. In my view, this is a pioneering case, and it alone shows how creative KZ is, not to mention the other solutions used in this song.
