Ditto, considering I'm [(27yrs x 2) +1]. I suppose my audio interest have grown since my mid 20's, when I was a young sonar office on a USN boat. Maybe it is the engineer in me, but I get a real kick out of tuning equipment and have landed upon IEM's for the choice, flexibility, and relatively lower investment necessary to drive them. Seems that during this last year, the performance/value equation has become quite consumer friendly. My current preferences: PC (Win10 Pro, with proper adv sound settings) + BTA30 Pro (for LDAC off of FLAC) + BTR5 + cabled IEM [finally, a cost-effective solution that addresses Windows limitations] PC (Win10 Pro, "" "") + BTA30 Pro (AptxHD off of FLAC) + KZ AZ09 Pro w/ IEM [a game changer when it comes to BT wireless, IMHO] Android phone (dev options for LDAC) + BTR5 + cabled IEM Android phone + AZ09 Pro + IEM TWS IEM (EarFun Free Pro 2) w/ custom tuning to my personal ear canal resonance (w/AirReps15 6x app, Android only), 10-band-tuned to Oluv's smooth-neutral tgt. A nice hobby that has saved me $$$ from a photographic equipment addiction! PS: I think my next IEM foray shall be with the LetShuoer S12 (planar).

I rly look forward to my ordered t3+ and obsidian. Will be a great addition for the go. The MEST sounded insane clear as always, but I already got that airy clearness with my beyer dt 1990 pro so the obsidian should be a fun addition to me. The KZ Zex Pro are worth every cent compared to the t3+ which is already a good value but the t3+ sounds still a tiny bit clearer to me, but the kz zex pro are just a bargain haha. You helped me a lot with my buying decision. Good comparison thank you!

I remember the first time I heard the Blon bl-03, coming from KZ's offerings at the time. I bought two more to give to my roommates so they could finally have good audio. For cheap. They still hit WAY above their price bracket. Probably the cheapest, really well tuned IEM. I get the feeling that I prefer BGGAR's preferred tuning. I love your reviews, how you talk about it and reinforce what we got to hear with our own ears. Someone might say the Blon is good, or the ZEX, and talk about why, but you put them head to head and someone can immediately compare and see what tuning style they like more. It really helped me when I considered upgrading my Hifiman HE-400i headphone, and saw that it was still pretty darn good compared to others. Even if the Sundara is an eventuality, I can see it's not as far off as I thought.

Driver flex during operation sounds like buzzing or distortion, as it's the membrane actually flexing/crunching. I had a defective legacy 4 that did this no matter how close I got to no positive or negative ear canal pressure. It's usually more of a problem with iem's that don't have any venting. Many people use driver flex to describe the crunch upon insertion.

15:00 The BLON has a single DD (10mm carbon diaphragm), while the ZEX Pro/CRN is a tri-brid with 1DD (10mm), 1Electrit (6.8mm), and 1 BA. Both are similarly priced...the CRN is maybe $5 more/when both are discounted. I own both and both sound good to me; I prefer the CRN purely for its comfortable fit in my ear...which matters a lot to me. I use the CRN mostly with a spare set of the KZ AZ09 Pro's. The other AZ09 Pro's are paired with my T3+'s. These are some of my current favorites in my growing collection of ChiFi IEM's, soon to be supplanted by the Olina and S12 (both on order). I will probably pair the S12 via cable to my BTR5/2021...it apparently seems to shine with a little more power.

Mest sounds nuts, even in a demo! On the Chili Peppers track when you switched to the Mest the air just surrounded everything. It was almost dizzying! I've been eyeing the U12t, but I think I need to do more research because it might save me some money. Great video yet again, Dan.

It's not only the mes that sounds like that stat at 300 and up with the lz a7, tuning is great for people on a budget, but tuning and great drivers is expensive, so your. Ot gonna get the best cheap, bad boy tries to help people, and give u a taste of hi end, but listen to those and save and one day. Buy higher end , but planar ar great s12, theres not of gems, but usually it's the more expensive that's great but over seas everything is cheaper, so were lucky, enjoy

Sorry Crin, but i much prefer the Mele over the Zex Pro and B2D! Seems like we have equal likes for IEM, Dan! I would pick the Mele everytime over que B2D, listening from this demo. I was about to buy the B2D, but then the 7hz Timeless appeared and i toke it (man, i never regret from buying it! Wha an IEM! I wonder how good the Obsidian sounds too!)

This is such a wonderful review Dan, never thought I would watch an hour long review on a electronic product (let alone a KZ production) but here I am. One thing I gathered that all of these IEMs under $100 is not that different (except Mele and T3), and if you aren't a reviewer you shouldn't own more than one of them, it's just wasting money at that point. Just my point of view tho, so anyone can disagree. I kinda missed Tea and Up in this review tbh. In all your sound demos Up always comes up as a top contender, though I know you're not fully sold on those IEM.

It wouldn't be enough how much i thank you for these demos Dan! Blon BL03 captured very well in the recording, i would still prefer the BL03 over many of them, i'm just in love with them for so long... T3 Plus is the upgrade for it and it's also one of the best iem under $300 for me. But still, there is no iem that can replace the BL03 forever for me :) It's vocal presentation, easy listening and still detailed sound, decent resolution, it's flawless for my taste... By the way, if you can add an Etymotic in these demos, an ER2XR for example? that would be great for comparison. i'll be waiting more demos from you, they are the best! Take care, cheers.

about driver flex, we have the same OG mest, is your not having driver flex? well mine & guy in my audio forum got flex with his OG mest too, mine is actually left side only, when im insert the left side iem the DD make like some kinda pop sound.

wow, blo3 still kicks a lot of IEM's under $50 ass except for Mele... however I know myself to be sensitive to brightness in IEMs, which I experience as glare. I liked OH10 also, which oddly I don't find bright.

Great review! I have the ZEX Pro and the Tin T3+ and I think the T3+ only wins over the ZEX Pro by only a slight margin. When I got them I was astonished they could put the ZEX Pro out at $35 and make them sound this good. KZ really stepped their game up.

My go to for last 3 months has been the soundcor liberty 3 pro they're unreal for tws for sound and add in features they're amazing but there is no doubt a different sound in an iem which is why I'm now researching and about to dive a lot deeper into this world of iem!! And Dan I gotta add I had read the zex pro has different tuning than the zex pro crinnacle maybe I'm wrong on that but I'd have sworn that's what it said when I ordered and was researching my 1st pair but man again great job amd super thankful to have found your channel!!!! Ima do some more digging here now too but more than likely I'm prolly wrong lol!!!! Amd Dan gotta add watched and listened to couple more a your videos I really from what I am hearing dig the mele pair of iem they sound like what I'd really dig kinda wish I'd have got those instead a the zex pro crn but next pair I get I keep Goin back between the Yuma midnight and the Kato leaning towards the midnight but gonna sit tight for a bit and listen to lot more of your videos to make a final decision but again I sure appreciate it and the replies have been huge help!!!!

Great video. Personally I think the right level of bass and lower mids was somewhere between the mele and the Zex Pro. Both of them have rolled off upper treble but the CRN sounds a lil rougher since it spikes back up. Not bad though. Tonality is SUPER CLOSE to Dusk which makes sense. Have you got the chance yet to get in a pair of CCA CRAs? Some people say it beats crinacle’s CRN especially in terms of treble extension. It also has more bass similar to melee so very “dynamic” and a total budget set. I’d be very interested in hearing that sound demo too

Ya I got the CRA. Don’t enjoy them yet on first impression 😔 Time can change that. As I get closer to making any video, I tend to listen to the item in question more… listening for what I could have missed. We’ll see how I feel when it inevitably ends up on a video some time soon’ish 😁

The CRN rolls of the air frequencies that's why it sounds lacking in detail sometimes, (like the MELE). With a slight EQ work in the treble, it really sounds good in what it is trying to be (neutral). Also it has this 8K peak, paired with the lack of air, it makes it sound "compressed".

I think driver flex just means that the suctioning effect that happens when you insert them or pull them out of your ears can cause crackling or popping when a dynamic driver shifts back and forth. The instructions for my audeze lcd-x actually states to not jerk them off your head to preserve the thin driver membrane. They will indeed crackle a little bit.

But generally I can just say I don’t really recommend strongly either the BL03 or the CRN, for my tastes at that budget. I would much prefer the KZ DQ6 from the KZ brand, or the BL05S from the Blon brand.

Super demo. In price order I perceive these failings (? means no obvious failing based on the sample): Zex - sound coloured with plastic resonances DQ6 - screechy treble BL03 - lacks instrument separation and treble resolution leading to a stuffy sound Zex Pro - V shaped with thin robotic vocals BL05S - slightly thin female vocals Mele - emphasises lower mids T3+ - lacks a little bass impact NM2 -? Obsidian - ? B2 Dusk - lower mids recessed Mist - splashy treble Btw distinguished these findings listening to samples on hd250bt headphones so be interesting to know whether they are the case in real life.

That’s all fairly close to my own observations actually. Except in real life I happen to enjoy the DQ6 different kind of sound (even though it does this with some strange treble play or something). The DQ6 is my favorite KZ so far….but there are soooo many KZ’s I haven’t tried. There’s just so many! Crazy.

@@dansaudioreviews Thanks, and yep KZ, QKZ, CCA, etc. will be releasing new offerings with different tunings (and perhaps even variable QC or even slightly different designs with the same model name, like the old KZ ZS5, so experiences of a particular model will vary) forever..so you will always have a job me thinks :-)

Hd250bt-lacks the enjoyment and tuning the blon bo3 brings to the table. I will pick blon bo3 over any Sennheiser in my personal opinion.

For me anyway, I liked the T3+ at the top of my “B” tier, whereas the BL03 were more around B- for me, at the bottom of the same tier. Both enjoyable, but I just personally prefer the sound of the T3+. In my own ears, they just come off a bit more exciting, a bit more clean in some places to me. But hey, the demo even has me thinking that the BL03 might deserve more back and forth careful listening to be sure.

Dan I know I'm prolly bein annoying but how ya liking those olinas? My son and I went ice fishing this weekend with my good buddy and his son and now we are stranded on this lake till storm calms down . If my wife sees this comment hun i swear i didnt plan this on purpose ahahahahaha. But my olinas were delivered yesterday and only thing I love as much as fishin is music and man I'm itchin to get home and check em out!!!!!!! Hopefully tomorrow!! Wonderful share man. Sounds like quite a time 😄 I imagine that excitement, waiting to try that new piece of gear. So far I have good impressions, and it stands up well to many products. I’ve been working all day today on editing the recordings to play against each-other. I hope by tonight I’ll be able to sit in front of my setup and record my commentary. Maybe by tomorrow I can start making final edits and release soon. I’m hoping for Wednesday morning.

Apple asides, Samsung is not overpriced at all. In fact they got best overall package for the TWS in that price range.

@@callenjamesbakerperi8062 I m not sure what do you mean by 'general' Samsung or Apple earbuds. But they don't make wire earbuds anymore. They all focus on TWS now. You can't just compare the sound quality of wire earbuds to TWS and justify the values since they re pretty much different products.

And the not so funny comment: I got the ZEX Pro and while it sounds really good, it's fit is awful, at least to me. I wore it the day before yesterday and fell asleep with them. When I woke up, I wore them for another hour, although it already hurt a bit (in retrospective this wasn't really clever ... but so very manly MUHAHAHA) :). Next morning my earcanals were sore and a bit oozing. For the second day in a row I can only wear my Koss 75, earbuds or headphones. I tried the Aria yesterday and it hurt badly. So, the sound is good, but actually the CCA CRA is about as good, half the price and fits way better, because it's half the size (felt, not measured ;P). And it's more spatial and has bass, which the CRN lacks. The CRN has better balance and very good details, though. So unless I find a way to wear it w/o effin' up my earcanals each time, I'll have to go with the CCA CRA instead.

Blon bo3 is phenomenal, fuck detail retrieval(aka ear fatigue)holographic sound stage, imaging and tonality is better on blons. Mest (very clear and detailed but the price is too much ) . Zex pro (cheap sounding) zex(dark muffled sound), mele(alright sound), dusk(ok sound), t3 plus(blon bo3 clone but with out the impactful bass) update on blon bo3 for the best sound and fit. Cut the plastic stuff inside any iem eartips then insert it into the blons nuzzle. This reduces driver flex and makes the nuzzle longer for deaper insertion. Also a better cable is required (I use 16 core copper cable) try and buy a good amplifier and dac. Ear Tips I use (misodiko Mix460 eartips ) probably the best hybrid eartips very good for long listening sessions without the itchiness of comply/foam eartips. Also tidal music is vey good for FLAC and 24bit goodness🎧🎶

Would be interesting to see how another Crinacle tuned earphone fairs: The FiiO x Crinacle FHE:Eclipse. Has a beryllium-plated dynamic driver and a base similar to Ikko OH10, at least on the graph. Pretty nice price point as well.

ZexPro feels plastic-y too. Its the first time I really understood what that term even meant. The tuning is real pleasant for me and might need to stay around, but it *needs* that EQ he posted. -5 8k and +10(?) 12k. Otherwise the CRN sounds... clicky.... That sub bass emphasis though? Delicious. I love that tuning so much, I just need a little more in the midrange. Also, for some reason, when I watch your videos, and your videos only, the exposure on my phone screen goes crazy and blows everything out, love the videos though :p Keep it up man
