During emperor Haile Sellassei years there was an Afan Oromo song where I grew up referring to the bus business of Mamo Kacha. It went like this: Otobiisin Mammo Kaachaa Kan irra kaatu dhagaacha There were more lines to the song which I forget. I think it was a locally generated random love song with no particular author. The name of Mammo Kacha also reminds me of wealthy business people who made it through hard work at the time. Many of them did not have modern education, but were naturally gifted and successful. It included Molla Maru, Haj Mustafa Sheikh Ismail, and Haj Rahmato.

On my last visit to Ethiopian, i saw a building passed WOSEN on the way to CMC. It said ማሞ ካቻ on the building and there's a small cafe underneath. Seeing the name put a smile on my face. I suspect it was becuse it reminded me of my childhood. As i recall the design of that building was nice and neat too.

Yes, I remembered when I was a young in 1978E.C in Ethiopia, young Oromo people were singing* Matobisin Mammo cacha ,gala gala Tebaa Galalicha jalit* If we translated to Amharic* yamamo kacha Autobus gale gale Galalicha dageti layi* So yes ,his father was very very successful business man in Auto bus industry in Ethiopia. Thank you for his Greatest accomplishments for Ethiopian people and now his son is doing similar jobs. This kind of business takeover by families is not familiar in Ethiopia. Thank you for you continuing this amazing Ladgacy!!!
