Among the saddest scenes of the film, those moments in the hotel room when the attempt at love making failed miserably, predicting that even if the romance were to continue, memories of her dead husband would be difficult to overcome. I applaud him for meeting her in Paris at the train station. This act showed he really cared for her, that his interest was not even close to being primarily sexual. And her line as they parted was so spot on, but so devastating. For those who haven't seen the film: SPOILER ALERT: Responding to his question "Why did you tell me your husband was dead?" Her reply, "Because he is; but not yet for me." (Sigh).

Yes JLT took a risk driving to the station but it paid off. He just did what his gut told him to do, not like earlier where he was imagining how their reunion will be like in Deauville with the monologue and overthinking it (which didnt even come to fruition since she was at the beach with the kids). but yes. great movie.
