Lübeck

In the Middle Ages, Lübeck was the most important city in the Baltic Sea region. This success can be seen in the beautiful buildings in the so-called Backsteingotik, the Gothic brick architecture that has been elevated to a national style. It is not without reason that Lübeck is on the World Heritage List.
