AT 2:51 he says that the lighting ``makes them look bigger``. A few minutes before(at 0:58) , Clark had said that it was smaller than he thought. I think that Superman did this on purpose to see if she would catch on. I guess she was too busy swooning over Superman to notice, though. Too bad.

You gotta remember it goes beyond that. Clark purposely makes himself a hint more pompous and grandiose as Superman to throw people off of his real identity. In addition, she has a crush on Superman but sees (or so she says) Clark as her big brother. That will make you blind as a bat to what is right in front of you.
