Bullying happens everywhere-at school, at work, and even at home. I’ve lived in the U.S. for over 30 years and still speak with an accent. Unlike many Taiwanese, who often say to foreigners, "Oh, your Chinese is so good," many Americans tend to mock people who speak with an accent. If you’ve watched Korean dramas, you’ve likely seen how they often portray rich kids bullying the poor. I completely agree with your advice to your friend and your daughter: be proud of who you are and ignore the bullies.
