You know, listening to apocalypse stories always reminds me of what the convenience of modern civilization has caused us to forget. All the survival knowledge that has been lost over time. What wild plants that you can eat and use for medicine. How to make tools and shelters. I think that is what scares me the most in these types of stories.

Mountainous cabin, doesn't have to be at the top, doubt zombies are inclined to go up, they are dead and with jolting movements much more likely to go down or fall off a cliff. Books would have been a priority for me, digital and paper, solar and electrical devices, drones, night vision cameras with sound, offroad vehicle like a buggy or even an offroad motorbike, compostable toilet, sterilizing tabs, more chance of finding a freshwater spring in mountains too. You can teach yourself how to make new crossbow bolts as well, CB radio is a must, a small pond for fish and small fowl like quails, the eggs are small but fresh. I like being alone, this would not bother me at all!

Cool FL. Not too much info of previous life but just enough to understand her character. I was so glad the three survivors she met were good people determined to survive. I liked the idea of becoming a settlement and hope for the future. Thank you for an enjoyable story.
