Constitution is sovereign in our country not parliament and in UK parliament is sovereign because Parliament can change any laws with simplicity (ammendment or ordinary) but in India process is different for ammendment of law

Our parliament is not a sovereign body neither judiciary bcz our sovereignty lies with people (e.g. preamble "we the people") but IN UK parliament is a sovereign body

Dicey’s conception of Sovereignty of Parliament has three connotations: (a) There is no law which the Parliament cannot make; (b) There is no law which the Parliament cannot repeal or modify. (c) There is no distinction between laws which are fundamental or constitutional and laws which are not.

There are 3 organs of govt., Legislature, executive and judiciary where Executive and legislature together form Parliament. Our constitution provides that executive is responsible to the legislature and in turn legislature is checked upon by Judiciary. So, from this we can infer that the three organs are interdependent and maintain checks and balances. This shows that none of the above body constitute of ultimate power or is sovereign in nature but the constitution. Hence, Parliament is not a sovereign body.

Indian parliament is not a sovereign body. This statement can be concreted by the feature of federalism, It is the power division of constitution which give it power to function. Non sovereignty of parliament can be understood by the root meaning of sovereignty which lays out that It is a nature when organisation has both internal and external autonomy. In internal autonomy, parliament has organs for functioning but all those organs are bounded by constitution, hence they work on principal of constitution. There are fundamental rights which cannot be changed or tempered with hence nullifying INTERNAL AUTONOMY. Then comes external autonomy parliament is YES a sole functioning institution but all-its actions can be called off by Judiciary and it also comes under function of checks and balance nullifying EXTERNAL AUTONOMY.

Our Parliament is not the sovereign body because it is answerable to the people of India on one hand whereas on the other hand our constitution sets limits on the use of power of the legislature or the parliament and if they oversteps the limits Judiciary is there for checks and balances because the Constitution has distributed the powers among Executive, Legislatures and Judiciary so that none of them can subvert the it.
