This is where we came in. This song put Motorhead on national tv, and this is the performance we were talking about in school the next morning. Bands like Motorhead, Gillan and Judas Priest were the entree for New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Other great double bass drummers of this era were Cozy Powell and Brian Downey.

This was when everything in the UK was either punk or New Wave. They kept "Real" rock n roll alive.......loved them🎸...you have to do "Bomber" next.

It's funny hearing that now and it seems solid but so chilled, back when it came out we thought it was playing at crazy speed, this was before thrash metal and probably responsible for it. I was lucky enough to watch Phil play at leat 5 times, What a lineup, currently best band to go see at the great gig in the sky.

You want to hear the No Sleep Till Hammersmith live version. This is great, but the speed and volume are just turned up ten notches.

Motorhead considered themselves a rock band more in line with Ramones . I saw Motorhead after the debut album and after the next two. Like Judas Priest the band I discovered in 78 , I like it Munch but with intervals of other music in between

Saw this original line up loads of times late 70s early 80s. Pure unfiltered rock n roll. And man were they fucking loud. Lemmy was originally a bad guitar player which is why he played the way he did. Sometimes playing chords and strumming like a rythm guitar player. The piece of the puzzle youre missing between Lemmy and Hawkwind is the Pink Fairies. Check out their Never Never Land album. Its peak UK freak/psych. Start with Do It!

1979 sounds right. Thought I might be off. Rock'n'roll total beasts. Phil and Lemmy for sure. Can't recall hearing them after Eddie. Miss that bass playing fool.😅❤
@johncampbell7564 ай бұрын
Lemmy started as a Jimi Hendrix roadie. He was then in the bizarre dpacerpcl band Hawkwind. RIP this entire line-up. For a completely different experience, try the title track from 1916. As a military family man, grab a tissue. For a very unique exoerience, King's X, a three piece Texas based band that somehow combines Texas blues, with metal, gospel, and The Beatles and were launched by Megaforce records, with debuted Metallica and Anthrax.
