I have listened to this many times, in different times and seasons and it always brings me to an inner feeling, a remembrance of seasons past, and a hope for the moment and seasons to come. This song is timeless, has no specific genre, and will be joyfully absorbed into the heart of those who can really feel the musical message that flows intricately and flawlessly from the souls of this amazing group of musicians. WELL DONE.

Joe Bonamonster is the Blues Master of this generation. His live performances are epic. "Sloe Gin" live is amazing.

Just watched a concert from Arizona Joe many years after this one in England. He ended the concert with this song(MT) and told the story of its existence. He said he was with a friend in a retreat of sorts and his friend told Joe he had just written his last song? Joe asked him what he meant? Joe liked Mountain time so much he wondered why the next song the guy wrote was his last. All he said was that it was being sung by some Canadian girl for a movie about a ship sinking!!! Joe said the guy had a look on his face of a man who had just become as rich as anyone could be by writing a piece of music .

Joe has been playing since he was 6 or 7 and even played with BB King at one time when he was 13. One of the best ever.

I am 71, when I first heard JB I was 46, I had grown up on Clapton Hendrix and all the greats of the 60/70s. I bought this DVD (twin) in 2010. I needed open heart surgery and was laid up for months. I played this one song over and over and over again(especially the solo towards the end) no other solo came close to me as the whole song sent me into inner heaven, I like your critique , This song is magic to me and helped me heal up ang go on to work 15 more years. This is yhe very best version of this song I have heard from any performance. Missed my one chance to see him live in my home town, was still recovering from heart surgery :(

Glad you liked this. I don't recall JB getting this close to Dave Gilmore's soul on guitar.

Love this tune "Mountain Time" and Joe is one of the best to come along over the past 20 years and inviting others into his stage. Check him out in some other joint musical excursions. Some one else mentioned Beth Hart but another was a band called Black Country Communion. The band features Joe and, Jason Bonham the son of John Bonham of led Zeppelins band, Glenn Huges a long time base lead who shared the stage with many including Deep Purple and Trapeze; Derek Sherinian keyboardist who has toured and recorded for Alice Cooper, Billy Idol, and others. A few songs to check out: "The Last Song For My Resting Place"; "Faithless"; "Song of Yesterday"; "Afterglow"; and "The Battle For Hadrian's Wall".

The two drummers thing is kind of funny. Someone asked him why he doesn’t ever have two drummers. He basically said…why would I? So here you go.

The guy that co-wrote this song was part of My Heart Will Go On from Titanic. Joe said when the guy went to write it that the guy Will Jennings took a $100 out of his pocket and lit his cigar on fire and said this will probably be the last song I'll write because my ship has sailed on. I'm sure Will Jennings made a lot of money from My Heart Will Go On.

Joe is unreal musician. And make sure to listen to songs from 2012, 2014, 2016 etc you will not believe his voice over the years and his playing is top notch as always! This concert is what catapulted him into the next phase of his career. Oh Clapton came out during this concert and did Further On Up The Road with Joe. This was his lifelong dream to play the RAH.

Hello L33. This song gives me goosebumps every single time I'm listen to. But what I couldn't stop thinking about was your Thor poster behind you. Awesome! I've already searched through tons of pages on the internet. Unfortunately, to no avail. Is there perhaps a clue on the poster or on the back that I can follow up on? Or do you still know where you got it from? I have to have the thing...🤷‍♂️ Best wishes Thor.... erm, Norb

You can dislocate your "jaw from awe" if you react to a song from THE SAME ROCKPALAST CONCERT called "Burning Hell". They are such a tight band, even when the time signature is in WARP SPEED!!! Plus Joe does the best slide guitar work I have ever heard. The 3 guys even goof off at the end of the song with superb precision!!! Burning Hell is at a level similar to MOUNTAIN TIME & to TAKIN THE HIT!!! Enjoy!!!!

Maybe on your own, watch the song before this, "Just Got Paid" (for me the concert highlight). He starts out by quoting a song from the pre-Zeppelin 1968 first Jeff Beck Group album "Truth", and half way through the song goes into Led Zeppelin's "Dazed and Confused" solo. I don't think that Jeff Beck album gets as much credit as it deserves for being at the point where heavily amplified blues paved the way for the beginnings of metal. His vocalist was a young Rod Stewart, and the bass player was Ron Wood.

The original version,or at least the one that I know of by Bonamassa, sounded like a Country & Western song. Thankfully, the song morphed a bit over the years

There's a lot to Joe Bonamassa's discography. On a completely different, but somewhat higher level, check out Joe's collaborations with the phenomenal blues belter BETH HART. They produced 3 studio albums of blues & soul classics together: Don't Explain (2011), Seesaw (2013), and Black Coffee (2018), 1) “I’ll Take Care of You” (Beth guest appearance at Joe Bonamassa’s ‘Live at the Beacon Theatre’ in NYC, 2011; Brook Benton cover): kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXfTmaifgt10bas 2) “I’d Rather Go Blind” (From the ‘Live in Amsterdam’ concert in 2013; Etta James cover): kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3arqIKViqqjbaM 3) “I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know” (From the ‘Live in Amsterdam’ concert in 2013; Al Kooper/Blood, Sweat & Tears cover): kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIC0YWqci7t3gLM

This is the one dude who is my exact age and got famous late. Every thing he does is gold, except I just, (I’m sorry here) cannot stand his voice. Like eggplant & crab, I just can’t tolerate it. At the same time, my respect of him acknowledges him as a peerless individual.

The last half of this tune sounds a bit like Peter Frampton's Do You Feel Like I do! Bonamassa is the biggest copy cat of famous guitar players! To me listening to Joe the past 25 years, i can tell who he is trying to be in his playing! He is NOT very original. Has chops, but he stole all of them
