+Avish Dubey What you are ignoring is, Effective Revenue Deficit is also increasing. So, both FD and GDP increases but increase in FD is more than GDP, so overall FD/GDP ratio is increasing.

+DLP. K : Yes, GDP calculation explanation is wrong in this video. First, the base year is used not for the determination of growth rate but for calculation of Real GDP, i.e. GDP at constant market Price of base year. Second, The Growth rate is not from base year, but the growth in GDP from previous year.

In short, Import of Gold will lead to higher Current Account Deficit which causes depreciation of Indian currency and which causes increase in petroleum prices. Long, Gold is not produced in India and generally imported. So when Gold demand increases, it means more Indians are willing to sell their currency to buy foreign currency to buy Gold than the other way around, that is foreigners willing to change their currency to Indian money. This way it causes fall in value of Indian currency in International market due to supply demand mechanism. Because of this depreciation of currency the petroleum imports seems expensive. Another way to look at this is that we can only afford a limited imports into the country because if imports increase by exports too much it cause BoP crises and Indian money lose value So if people start importing gold thats bad. Hope this helps

+kumar gaurav Shaw never take negativitiy, and hatred from somebody in a society and show it on others...It is a biggest crime...you dont know the world outside, yet you generalise...hindi is hated only in tamilnadu(for that matter they prefer tamil language over all other south indian languages..its can be overpride for their language.in this case too..only hindi people are not being specifically discriminated) that too not all...rest of all south indians have respect for other languages of india not only hindi...but not knowing some language is not a crime...don't generalize and spread negativity

+kumar gaurav Shaw : its bad to have preconceived thoughts abt south indians. Especially , I would like to say that most natives of tamilnadu speak Tamil (being their mother tongue) , which is the oldest language of India (...than hindu too of course) . Your experience at Chennai beach was definitely bitter , but dont blame all of us. Be a Tamilian at tamilnadu and Indian at India.
